Grab your waterproof map case one last time. Coastal Treasure, GlobalStream's sun-soaked teen adventure-mystery, is heading into its fifth and final season. The friends from the marsh docks are getting a proper send-off, with a farewell premiere expected in spring 2027. It is bittersweet news, but it is the kind of ending every fan secretly hopes for: a story that gets to finish on its own terms. (Launch edition note: Coastal Treasure, GlobalStream and the characters below are fictional and illustrative.)

The crew we have been sailing with

For anyone joining late, Coastal Treasure follows a group of teenagers in the small tidewater town of Saltmere, where the marshes hide old shipwrecks and older secrets. The heart of the show has always been the friendship between its core four.

  • Juniper "June" Calloway, the stubborn ringleader who inherited her late grandfather's notebook of treasure clues.
  • Theo Maddox, a mechanic's son who can fix any boat motor and talk himself out of almost any trouble.
  • Priya Lansing, the history buff whose library research has cracked more riddles than any shovel.
  • Wes Okafor, the newcomer from the city who started as an outsider and became the group's moral compass.

Over four seasons, the crew has dodged rival treasure hunters, fallen out and made up more times than we can count, and learned that the adults of Saltmere know far more about the past than they let on. The show balances cliffhanger mysteries with genuine warmth, which is why it has inspired so many fan theories and so many group rewatches.

The lost galleon

At the center of it all is the legend of the Marguerite, a galleon said to have sunk off the Saltmere coast with a cargo nobody can agree on. Some say gold, some say documents that could change who owns the town, and some say nothing at all. Every season has inched the crew closer, uncovering a piece of the ship's story while raising new questions.

Season 4 ended with the friends holding what may be the final clue, and with a hard truth about one family's role in the wreck. We will not spoil the details here, but it is safe to say the final season has a lot to resolve, both underwater and between the characters themselves.

Why ending on its own terms matters

On our Renewal Scorecard, a Final Season label is not a sad label. It is often a gift. Shows that are cancelled abruptly can leave mysteries hanging forever, and fans of serialized stories know that feeling all too well. When a network confirms the end in advance, writers can plan the finish line instead of scrambling toward it.

A planned arc

Knowing Season 5 is the last means the creative team can pace the galleon mystery deliberately, give each of the core four a meaningful arc and resist the temptation to stretch the story with filler. Endings land better when the show knows they are coming.

Room for goodbyes

Teen dramas are, at heart, about growing up. A final season lets the characters face the end of high school and the question of whether their friendship survives beyond Saltmere. That emotional payoff matters as much as any treasure chest.

What we do not know yet

GlobalStream has not confirmed the episode count or an exact premiere date. The spring 2027 timing is an expected window, and we will update our scorecard when there is something official. We are also not going to guess about cast appearances or surprise returns until they are announced.

What to rewatch before the farewell

If you want to set sail fully prepared, here is a compact rewatch roadmap that focuses on the galleon mystery and the friendships that drive it.

  1. The pilot, for June's first look at her grandfather's notebook and the earliest hints about the Marguerite.
  2. The Season 1 storm episode, where the crew first realizes the adults are hiding something.
  3. The Season 2 library heist, which introduces the archive records Priya keeps returning to.
  4. Wes's origin episode in Season 3, essential for understanding his family's connection to the town.
  5. The full Season 4 finale, which sets up the final clue and the moral dilemma waiting in Season 5.

If you only have time for one, make it the Season 4 finale. It is the hinge the whole last season seems likely to turn on.

One last voyage

Saying goodbye to a show you have grown up alongside is never easy, but a planned ending is the best kind of goodbye. We will be covering the final season closely, with spoiler-marked recaps, theory roundups and, eventually, a proper farewell retrospective. Have a theory about what is really aboard the Marguerite?
