King Charles and Queen Camilla appear close, but insiders suggest the couple is going through a divorce “in everything but name.” Away from the cameras, sources insist their marriage runs on very different terms. They maintain separate routines, homes, and priorities. Hence, what the public sees is only a part of the truth while the two lead independent lives.
Source claims King Charles and Queen Camilla are living very different lives
Divorce might currently not be on the table for King Charles and Queen Camilla, but sources say they have grown apart. According to RadarOnline’s exclusive report, while their bond remains intact in name, their marriage stands on duty rather than closeness. A source claimed that the couple is “divorced in everything but name.”
“They are putting on a united front in public,” the insider said. “But behind the scenes it’s a very different picture.” They further explained, “Camilla lives at Ray Mill most of the time, while Charles retreats to Highgrove or Clarence House. It’s a marriage of appearances and public relations optics at this stage.”
Ray Mill, Camilla’s country estate in Wiltshire, is where she hosts her children and grandchildren, and where she keeps her beloved rescue dogs. A family acquaintance explained, “For Camilla, Ray Mill is much more than just a house.” They continued, “It’s where she feels free from the demands of royal life.” Moreover, the queen has “always held on to it because it symbolizes her independence,” which has reportedly “deepened as her marriage to Charles has gone on.”
Before their marriage, Charles and Camilla agreed to keep separate retreats. However, with the latter spending the majority of her private time in Wiltshire, insiders say it appears less like balance and more like evidence of separate lives. The source stated that the royal couple “remain committed in their own way.” However, “it’s not the kind of marriage most people would recognize.” The insider concluded, “At this point, it’s the crown that binds them – not the relationship itself.”
