Will There Be a Season 2 of ‘Every Year After’?

If you’re looking for a way to beat the heat, all eight episodes of Prime Video’s Every Year After are now available on the streamer.

Based on Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel “Every Summer After,” the buzzy new YA drama is described as a “romantic, nostalgic story of first loves and the people and choices that mark us forever” and takes place over six years and one week in the quintessential lake town of Barry’s Bay. Fortune’s novel spent 16 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list on its way to becoming a BookTok favorite.

Starring Sadie Soverall and Matt Cornett, the series has been an early hit for Prime Video, catapulting to the top spot on the streamer’s Top 10 list (right behind recent YA phenom Off-Campus).

Fans who’ve already devoured the first season of Every Year After are wondering if a return to Barry’s Bay is in the cards. Will there be a Season 2 of Every Year After? Here’s everything we know.

How Many Episodes Are There of Every Year After?

The first season of Prime Video’s latest hit consists of eight episodes.

Has Every Year After Been Renewed For Season 2?

Not yet! But we wouldn’t worry too much about that, considering the series just debuted on Prime Video.

Will There Be a Season 2 of Every Year After?

As we mentioned above, there’s no official info about a potential second season. But based on the events of the finale, the early success of Every Year After (it’s currently the number one show on Prime Video), and the fact that Fortune wrote a second book, One Golden Summer, that’s set in the same world as Every Summer After (and Amazon owns the rights), we believe Season 2 is a near certainty.

The show’s success is one major green flag when it comes to a possible second season, but another indicator that we’ll eventually be returning to Barry’s Bay is showrunner Amy B. Harris’ obvious enthusiasm to create more episodes of Every Year After.

“If we’re lucky enough to have a season two, [Sam and Percy are] not settled, right?” Harris told Deadline. “[Sam] still has feelings about what happened between them, and I think that is going to make their relationship complicated in the best way… They still have a lot of emotions and issues to work through.”
