We’re getting closer and closer to Bridgerton season 3’s release on Netflix, and everyone’s gearing up for what will surely be another great installment of the hit period drama series. While the wait has been painfully long, we’ve been learning a lot of juicy deets about the third season lately, such as there possibly being a queer love story explored. There has even been a lot of chatter about the upcoming fourth season. Rumor has it that production will get started on Bridgerton season 4 sometime in June 2024.
So, where did we learn this information, you ask? We came across it via the Film Updates X page. Film Updates is a news page on X that reports information related to films, actors, and TV shows. According to one of Film Updates’ recent posts, it says that Bridgerton season 4 will reportedly start production in June 2024. However, the news page didn’t include a source from which they got this information, so we’ll have to take this with a grain of salt. Also, neither Netflix nor the Bridgerton creative team has confirmed this date. So, for now, this is just a rumored filming start date.
However, it didn’t take long at all for fans to swarm the post and leave comments expressing how excited they were about the fourth season and it possibly moving forward in the filmmaking process. We shared some of the fan comments via X below.
“Coooooooook. Let’s have it. One more season of finesse.”

“That’s exciting news for fans of “Bridgerton”! The start of filming for season 4 in June suggests that viewers can anticipate another captivating installment of the beloved series in the near future. As production gets underway, fans can look forward to more drama, romance, and intrigue set against the backdrop of Regency-era England. It’s sure to be an eagerly awaited event for fans around the world.”
While a June 2024 production start date is rumored at the time, it is possible that the cameras could start rolling then. At the Australian premiere for Bridgerton season 3 on April 21, new showrunner Jess Brownell talked with Refinery29 Australia and mentioned that the show’s writing team was in the middle of writing the scripts for season 4. It’s unclear how many scripts have been written already, but it’s possible that the writing process might almost be finished. I mean, the writers strike ended back in September 2023, so the Bridgerton writing team has had a significant amount of time to write for the fourth season. Once all the scripts are completed, filming can get started.
If production does end up getting started in June, we’ll probably be looking at eight months of filming before the new episodes move into post-production. That’s how long it took to film the second and third seasons. With a production schedule of eight months, the cameras would stop rolling sometime in February 2025. It’s the post-production process that’s tricky to figure out, but a 2025 release for Bridgerton season 4 would definitely be possible in this scenario.
As we learn more details about the highly anticipated fourth season of the period drama, we’ll be sure to share them right away. So, stay tuned to Netflix Life!
