The great Mexican world champion has declared that there is no one better in the ring in pugilism.
Although some may not think so, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez remains at the top as a reference in the boxing world. The undisputed super middleweight champion says he feels “very proud and always happy to represent Mexico” because, he confesses, “every opportunity I have to show my love for my country makes me feel happy”.
In an interview with the Mexican magazine Caras, Canelo assures that receiving the support of his people “means everything to me. I love my country and it gives me the strength and motivation to fight in every fight,” he confesses in the aforementioned magazine.
Saul Alvarez acknowledges Mexico’s support on his road to success
Being one of Mexico’s greatest exponents abroad is “a responsibility that I take very seriously. I strive to make my countrymen proud. Their support and belief in me is what drives me to succeed”.
This is how the Mexican boxer reiterates his happiness for the support he receives, as it makes him give his best in each of his presentations.
“My contribution is to do what I have to do to stay focused and deliver great results. I think those moments are the ones that contribute to the history of Mexican boxing. Every time I enter the ring, I fight for my country and give my best,” he added.
Canelo Alvarez reiterates being the best boxer in the world
In addition, Alvarez Barragan has again indicated that he feels he is the best boxer in the world, as he is confident in what he is as an athlete.
“I have declared myself the best fighter at the moment because I believe in my skills and hard work. However, I also know that boxing is always evolving and there is always someone training hard to be the next champion. I welcome the challenge and look forward to seeing who will rise,” he said.
Canelo Alvarez thinks about the future once he retires
As for the future, Canelo assured that his roadmap is to “keep pushing my limits and achieving greatness. I will continue to train hard, face new challenges in boxing and business, and keep working on my skills. There is always more to achieve and I am excited for the future,” he commented.
Saul Alvarez also talked about his last victory over Jaime Munguia and how he approached that fight.
“Jaime is a very strong and determined fighter. For me, what helped me was training differently and using tactics that helped my mental state. All strength comes from the mind. The fight with Munguia reminded me why I love this sport: the constant challenge and the fact that we are both Mexican is even better. Every fighter brings out something different in me, pushes me to improve and adapt,” he said.
