Perry will be Mike Tyson’s replacement in the Nov. 20 fight at AT&T Stadium.

Jake Paul has always been known for his daring decisions. From his career as a YouTuber to his side gig as a boxer, Paul has consistently shown a willingness to take risks. However, even he had to admit that his next fight could be the biggest risk of his career.
The influencer-turned-boxer was scheduled to face former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on July 20 in Arlington, Texas. However, complications with a stomach ulcer forced “Iron Mike” to interrupt his preparation and postpone the fight.
The Tyson-Paul fight was rescheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium, leaving a gap in Paul’s schedule. Among the multitude of contenders vying for Tyson’s spot, the chosen one was former UFC star Mike Perry.
The big risk for Jake Paul
Mike Perry had a notable career in the UFC but left the promotion after a streak of four losses in his last five fights. After leaving Dana White’s company, Perry found his second wind in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he remains undefeated.
Upon signing the fight against Perry, Paul admitted that it will be an entertaining bout, “but it is a bigger risk.” The influencer acknowledged, “I’m potentially sacrificing the biggest moment and payday of my career if I lose to Mike Perry.”
However, he recalled that he has built his career by taking these kinds of risks. “These are the positions that I like to put myself in and feel like I have to put myself in to get better under the lights.”
The fight will be over in 10 minutes, Paul predicts
Paul noted that he already knows Perry, having sparred with him prior to his fight against Ben Askren three years ago. “This fight has been brewing for years. Mike Perry has been talking sh*t to me for years non-stop, and I do think this guy is funny.“
“My official prediction for the fight is three rounds or less. I’m calling it now; these guys can’t hang with me,” Paul asserted. He also mentioned that no one has seen him fight in the last year and assured that he has made extraordinary progress as a boxer.
Trying to see the positive side of the situation, the Problem Child asserted that the fight against Perry will help him gain experience. He admitted that his rival is a brutal fighter who has not been knocked out. “This guy is a f*cking lunatic. He’s undefeated in bare-knuckle, which is probably the craziest sport in the world.”
Despite everything at stake, Paul remains the same as always: overconfident, big mouthed, and eager to provoke his rivals. Whether that will work against Perry or Tyson remains to be seen.
