The ‘Gypsy King’ apparently still hasn’t recovered from his head injuries

All jokes aside, it is obvious that Tyson Fury’s competitive spirit will never allow him to accept he lost that unification battle against Oleksandr Usyk. On May 18, the heavyweight division changed forever. Tyson Fury was believed to be the best ever before this fight but he was completely humbled by the Ukrainian star. right after the fight, you will remember the Tyson Fury show that made people grow concerned about him. Speaking to a reporter ringside, Fury claimed he felt he won the fight and thought it was the newyear. Getting hit in the head as Tyson Fury did during Round 9 of this fight will have a lasting effect on anybody. It’s already been a month and Fury’s most recent statements are the best proof that fighters shouldn’t speak to a microphone so soon after losing like that.

Here’s what Tyson said via Furocity Energy: “I’ve watched the fight back lots and still got the same answer – I thought I won. Usyk knows he didn’t beat me… I thought I boxed the head right off him for most of the rounds. He busted my nose in round eight, got the 10-8 in round nine and I gave him round ten. But other than that I didn’t give him any other rounds… It was actually a lot easier than I thought it’d be. People said he’s hard to hit, I was lighting him up with four-punch combinations and laughing at him. My problem was I probably had too much fun. It was too easy. It was like I was in there with a local amateur boxer. I was enjoying it too much, messing around and paid the ultimate price in round nine.”

Is Tyson Fury simply in denial?

We are not saying Tyson Fury doesn’t have what it takes to come back and win alll the belts back again. The ‘Gypsy King‘ is a specialist in triumphant returns. But there is also the ego issue with this particular case. A man who has been worshipped for so long as the best ever, even above other greats like Muhammad Ali or Rocky Marciano. That level of adullation would affect anybody’s ego and Tyson Fury has been no exception.
