With the combat sports community speculating over exactly why Conor McGregor withdrew from UFC 303, Dana White has come forward to dismiss a crazy conspiracy theory.
‘The Notorious’ was scheduled to make his eagerly-anticipated return to the cage on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. However, fans are now concerned that they may never see their hero in action again.
Dana White denies Conor McGregor pulled out of UFC 303 over financial demands
In news that has rendered MMA enthusiasts devastated, with less than a month to go, Conor McGregor has officially pulled out of his contest with Michael Chandler.

The grudge match, which was marinated nicely through a stint on The Ultimate Fighter together and ‘Iron’ calling out the Dubliner on WWE Monday Night Raw, was set to make for a salivating battle for fans to get their teeth sunk into.
Alas, McGregor’s near-three-year hiatus from competition is set to extend even further, with experts like Chael Sonnen suggesting he may never fight again.
The former 2x UFC champion has pulled out due to injury. But that hasn’t stopped some individuals from speculating that other factors may be at play. However, Dana White has put those rumors to bed, dismissing a story doing the rounds on the grapevine.
The president of the company denies McGregor withdrew from the bout, with a record-breaking $20m-plus gate, over monetary demands.
During an appearance on The Jim Rome Show, he explained: “Conor McGregor… I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again: Conor McGregor has never done that.
“Conor McGregor never leads up to a fight and tries to renegotiate a contract or get more money. He’s never even done anything remotely close to that.
“He is as solid as solid can be, when it comes to being a business partner. Conor McGregor is hurt right now; it’s absolutely real.
“Yeah, no, he’s never done anything like that.”
Regardless, the whole situation has left Chandler in an incredibly difficult position.
Michael Chandler issues emotional statement after Conor McGregor pulls out of UFC 303
For the last two years, the American has sat on the sidelines, desperately awaiting his opportunity to secure a shot at the biggest star in the history of the sport.
During that period, it looked as if Chandler may have been letting the twilight years of his career evaporate before his very eyes.
However, when McGregor and he, finally signed on the dotted line for a Las Vegas dust-up, it appeared as if his gamble had proved worthwhile.
But sadly, it wasn’t to be. And while White has assured the world that he’s interested in rescheduling the contest, Chandler’s still understandably upset.
