Rylan Clark made a heartbreaking confession about his split from ex-husband Dan Neal live on ITV’s This Morning
Rylan Clark, the TV personality and former X Factor contestant, opened up about his personal life on This Morning with a candid admission regarding his separation from ex-husband Dan Neal.
While co-hosting with Josie Gibson, the conversation shifted to matrimony as Gyles Brandreth reminisced about his own simple wedding to Michele Brown. They married at Marylebone Registry Office with just two guests in attendance.
A nostalgic photo of Gyles and his “beautiful” spouse was displayed, prompting Rylan to jest: “That’s the first time I’ve seen you not in a jumper!”
Gyles recounted the details of his modest wedding day: “8th of June 1968. That is me and Michelle outside Marylebone Registry Office. We had just two witnesses, just two people at our wedding a girlfriend of Michele’s and my best friend from school, an actor called Simon Cadell. You may remember him from Hi-de-Hi!”

He added that the ceremony was economical, costing only the price of the marriage license, which was £5 back then, and noted how it was possible to park right outside the registry office. Following the nuptials, Gyles celebrated by having lunch with his friends, reports the Mirror.
Reflecting on Gyles’ experience, Rylan mused about his own approach to a future wedding, saying: “I mean, if I was to ever do it again, I’d be like, ‘I won’t tell anyone, we’ll just get someone round to the house’. We’ll be in our pants. I do – ta-da. Done it.”
In a poignant revelation, he disclosed that a venue had been booked for his 10th wedding anniversary with Dan before their separation in 2021, despite having been married for only six years.

He shared: “I didn’t realise I’d actually booked a venue for my 10th wedding anniversary. I got an email a couple of months back asking, ‘Do you still want this venue?’ I was like, ‘no!’ I was like, ‘I forgot’. I’ve lost my deposit and all!”
Rylan also made history with Dan in July 2016 when they became the first gay couple to present This Morning together. Dan, a former Metropolitan Police detective, had his own stint on Big Brother in 2013, while Rylan was featured in the celebrity edition.
The couple, who got engaged in 2014 after meeting on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, tied the knot in 2016. However, following their split, Rylan took a break from the public eye to concentrate on his mental health.
