Tom Holland had to quickly take back his challenge to J.K. Rowling when he stuttered through a Harry Potter quiz.

Apart from being a rising superstar in Hollywood, Tom Holland is also a quintessential film buff. The MCU star has always spoken about his admiration for movies across genres and generations while also fanboying over many of the actors he has worked with.

Holland’s enthusiasm also extended to the Harry Potter novels which he claimed were his favorite books to read growing up. The Spider-Man: No Way Home star went as far as stating that he could beat author J.K. Rowling at her own game when it came to the ultimate Harry Potter pop quiz. But Holland was hilariously made to take back these words during an interview.
When Tom Holland Challenged J.K. Rowling
The Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling have touched a chord with millions of readers around the world including A-list celebrities. Tom Holland is one star who has openly admitted his love for the books and the magical world that Rowling has created.

The Marvel star spoke to BBC Radio 1 a few years ago and told host Ali Plumb about his excitement at the prospect of attending a Harry Potter-themed quiz in a London pub. Holland even stuck his neck out and posed a challenge to Rowling herself when he said,
“I think I would smash that. I think I might know more about Harry Potter than J.K. Rowling. I am obsessed with Harry Potter”
A year later though, he was made to eat humble pie on BBC Radio 1 again when he was challenged to a Harry Potter quiz on the radio channel. When asked to name the magical creature that manifests in front of people who have witnessed death, the celebrity mumbled and stumbled his way through the answer aided by his host and said,
”Oh, it’s that horsey thing. It’s called argal… no a festile…a festral… oh a thestral! That’s what it is!”
As the questions became more pointed and tough, Holland quickly realized that he had a long way to go before claiming to be a bigger master at the game than the prolific author of the novels.
Tom Holland On Why Privacy Is Important In His Romance With Zendaya
Hollywood film buffs are living their fairytales vicariously through Tom Holland and Zendaya’s off-screen romance. Although both actors have officially confirmed their relationship through numerous public appearances together, the couple have rarely spoken about their love story or shared details about each other in public.

Holland in an interview with GQ, explained why he felt the need to protect his relationship with his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star. He confessed that there were certain important reasons that stopped him from talking about their love story, which included giving Zendaya the respect she deserved.
“I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private because I share so much of my life with the world anyway. We sort of felt robbed of our privacy. It’s not a conversation that I can have without her, you know, I respect her too much. This isn’t my story. It’s our story. And we’ll talk about what it is when we’re ready to talk about it together.”
The Euphoria actor also weighed in on her boyfriend’s opinion and said that she believed their relationship demanded that they enjoy the companionship without any outside pressures. Meanwhile, fans are happy to witness the two stars glitter together at various red carpet-appearances.
