Tyson Fury achieved fame and fortune thanks to the power of his fists. However, one person is not interested in attending his fights, his own mother, Amber Fury.

Amber, 64, shares three children with her ex-husband John Fury: Tyson, Shane, and Hugh. She also gave birth to a daughter, Ramona, who died when she was months old. Amber Fury has dedicated herself to her family and has never been interested in appearing in public or being part of her son’s fame.

In a recent interview, Fury confirmed, “She has never been to one of my fights, amateur or pro, and never been in the public eye at all.” He explained that he even did a Google search without finding a single photograph of his mother. “That’s crazy, isn’t it?” recognized the boxer.

Amber Fury’s true interest

In the interview, Fury explained that Amber values her privacy above all, “She has never sought public attention.” He stressed that her mother is not interested in him being famous. “She doesn’t care if I’m world champion or not, as long as I’m healthy and happy. That is the only thing that means anything to her.”

Tyson expressed her admiration for his mother’s character by saying, “You could give my mother that table full of £50 notes and diamonds, and it wouldn’t change who she is, ever.”

The fighter stressed, “She is not interested in changing, at all. She doesn’t want to be a somebody. She doesn’t want to be anything that she isn’t already, and that is what she has been all her life and brought up to be.”

Amber doesn’t understand her son’s fame

Even though her son’s name constantly appears on the news and sports websites, Amber doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about. “To be honest, my mom doesn’t fully understand what I have achieved as a boxer,” the former champion admitted.

He recalled, “I took her out shopping once after the Wilder fight, and I was being stopped for photographs and autographs everywhere I went in Manchester, and she couldn’t understand it.”

Amber Fury is one of those rare examples of people who don’t let themselves be dazzled by fame. Tyson can consider himself lucky for the upbringing his mother gave him, which made him who he is.
