The CW drama wrapped up new episodes … but folks are still upset about something involving the main character.
Sullivan’s Crossing wrapped airing season 3 in July 2025 on the CW.
The hit drama already got renewed for season 4, with new episodes premiering in 2026.
Fans of the series are calling out the show for a major plot hole involving Maggie Sullivan (played by Morgan Kohan).
Sullivan’s Crossing may have wrapped up season 3 … but fans are still commenting about one key detail that has them talking.
The hit CW drama wrapped airing new episodes back in July, and fans are eagerly waiting for more from the folks at the Crossing in season 4. But while there’s still time before new episodes premiere in 2026, some fans are taking notice about a particular plot line the series weaved about protagonist Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan).
Throughout her time back at the Crossing, Maggie had always been hoping to get back to being a successful neurosurgeon. After all, she left Boston to return to her hometown after being sued for negligence during a procedure. And while she was acquitted and did end up returning to the field, she ended season 2 with leaving the profession in order to run the Crossing with her dad Harry “Sully” Sullivan (Scott Patterson). But as fellow Crossing citizen Edna Cranebear (Andrea Menard) had to undergo risky brain tumor surgery, Maggie decided to scrub back up and do the thing she loved the most (by the way — the procedure was successful).

But amid conversations about Maggie going back to medicine or deciding to stay at home, Reddit user @fursure3 had some thoughts about the character not needing to make drastic choices. “Why doesn’t Maggie just get certified in Nova Scotia?” the question read in a post uploaded on July 28. “She’s out here doing so much free labor 😂.”
Given how Maggie’s profession continues to be a topic of discussion, it didn’t take long before others noticed the comment. As a result, some decided to give their two cents about what this could possibly mean for the character.
“I think that’s what’s going to happen. Maybe next season,” one person theorized in the comments. “Risky free labour. She’s not insured,” another noted. “You can’t just be certified to be a doctor in a different country all willy nilly. It’s a lot of paperwork, taking exams, etc.,” a different viewer noted.
Well, if there’s anything we know about Sullivan’s Crossing, it’s that the show loves to keep fans on their toes. And with Maggie’s storyline ending on the cliffhanger that she is in fact secretly married while in a relationship with Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray), this is something we definitely need to keep on watching for!
As for what Maggie’s life will look like when Sullivan’s Crossingreturns for season 4, looks like we’ll just have to wait and see …
