Garcia is currently serving a one-year ban from boxing and looks to trial new sports in that time
Fans brutally put down Ryan Garcia by telling him to “stick with boxing” as the controversial boxer who called out LeBron James in his area of expertise on the basketball court whilst serving a ban.
Garcia is currently suspended from fighting after repeated positive doping results following his bout with Devin Haney in April 2024, and in the one-year hiatus he seems keen to try other sports which included a challenge to the Los Angeles Laker.
“Let’s go @kingjames I’m ready,” Garcia posted to Instagram, with a video of him trying to shoot hoops and move around the basketball court but it didn’t work out how he’d hoped as he found social media laughing at him.
“Wow, rehab looks like a basketball court. That’s weird,” one user said, referencing the fact that Garcia is supposed to be in rehab.
“Just stick to boxing bro”, a second added.
“Ryan would say some ish like ‘The Matrix is out here blocking my shots. God got me,'” commented a third, joking about Garcia‘s 2024 conspiracy theories.
“Bro made one shot & decided to post it,” said a fourth, suggesting the 25-year-old was getting ahead of himself.
Garcia had promised to attend rehab following comments offensive he made against black people and the Muslim community, and it appears that his desired rehab centre will be the Crypto.com Arena in LA…
LeBron prepares for Olympics
It’s unclear if LeBron James will notice his challenge and it might be for the best all things considered. The 6ft9in forward is regarded as the second best, or best, basketball player of all-time and continues to embarrass professionals regularly.
Through 2023, he posted 25.7 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game and 8.3 assists per game as he prepares to chase the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and he has already spared Team USA blushes by coming in clutch in a 92-88 victory over Germany.
Team USA’s first game will be against Nikola Jokic‘s Serbia on 28.
