A source close to the couple says the two want to invite family and friends to Barbados for a multi-day event.

In the nearly five years since news of their relationship broke in late 2020, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have enjoyed a number of significant milestones: After making their red carpet debut as a couple in 2021, they welcomed their first child, RZA Athelston, in 2022, had their second child, Riot Rose Mayers, in late 2023, and A$AP began referring to Rihanna as his “wife” that same year. But did the longtime-friends-turned-romantic-partners ever actually tie the knot? Though it’s certainly possible the musicians were married in a private, civil ceremony, a wedding is apparently very much so still on the table. According to Yahoo! Entertainment, the pair are considering a destination wedding this summer.

“They’re eager to commemorate the happy news with a wedding, sooner rather than later,” a source told the outlet. So, where will they tie the knot? The obvious answer is Rihanna’s home country of Barbados. “At the moment, a ceremony in Barbados is the plan,” the source added. “They’ve talked about August, but that would mean things would need to move quickly, so it will likely be towards the end of the year.”

The pair reportedly want the wedding to be a multi-day event with all the bells and whistles, a trend many other engaged couples are partial to as well. “Rihanna wants a three-day event, if not longer, in order for them to really celebrate and also make it worthwhile for guests to fly out,” the source said. And because they want such a detail-heavy event, they’re reportedly working with a local pro to bring the day to life. “Having a team on-site to coordinate makes it a million times easier.”

Nothing specific is known about the guest list just yet, but the insider says it will be a star-studded event. “Between Rihanna and Rocky, they have a ton of famous pals, so there will definitely be an A-list element, but it’s not going to be some big Hollywood shindig,” they note. “The majority of guests will be their family and lifelong friends.” RZA and Riot will reportedly have major roles in the wedding party, the source adds. It would make sense for the two kids, ages two and 19 months, respectively, to serve as ring bearer and flower girl, they could also get creative and have them stand in for a traditional best man and maid of honor.

In January of 2023, another pal close the couple told Heat World  that Rihanna and A$AP wanted to get married sooner, but they delayed plans to focus on their children. “They planned on getting married a while back but had to put it off a couple of times because they wanted to get through the pregnancy, then settle into raising their little guy for at least six months without any big distractions,” the source explained. “Ri’s schedule is really picking up, but it won’t hold her back from tying the knot with Rocky in the spring.” At that time, a wedding in Barbados was also on the table: “She wants to do it back in Barbados, and her family is busy organizing a beautiful beach ceremony, which is planned to coincide with her 35th birthday in February,” the source said. “She would love to walk down the aisle with a baby bump, and they won’t be stopping at two children either.”
