Bridgerton fans were treated to a new trailer for its second chapter. However, many of them rumbled an upcoming twist by spotting one detail hinting at a shock arrival
Netflix fans have rumbled trouble ahead for Benedict Bridgerton and Lady Tilley Arnold after a new trailer was dropped for the second part of Bridgerton’s third season.
The first batch of episodes, which premiered last month, showed Penelope Featherington (portrayed by Nicola Coughlan) finally exploring her romantic potential with Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after their friendship blossomed.
Fans will continue to follow their journey on June 13 after being teased by a new trailer that they’re sure offered them their first glimpse of Benedict’s love interest from the book series, Sophie Beckett.
The character seemed to be introduced in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment as Benedict (Luke Thompson) was seen staring in shock at a mystery woman with her back to the camera, which was enough for viewers to react in a frenzy on X, otherwise known as Twitter.

Benedict was seen moments before in the trailer, in bed with his new other half Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) but bookworms will know that Sophie, the illegitimate child to the Earl of Penwood, is Benedict’s wife and the mother of their four children in the written series.
The second-oldest brother in the Bridgerton family is due to have his own season and viewers have grown increasingly convinced it’s only a matter of time before he faces Sophie and falls in love with her.
Many Bridgerton fans swarmed over to Reddit to share their thoughts, with one penning: “Is that Sophie?” Another added in response: “I literally rushed here to say this – THIS SHOT plus the clock striking midnight in the trailer???? I feel like we’re getting hints for Benedict’s story.”
The teaser left another Reddit user to brand the speculation “unbearable”, as they commented: “I can’t believe they’re teasing with that image… the outrage/excitement that’ll follow in the next two weeks is going to be unbearable.”
Off-screen, Bridgerton stars have captivated audiences with recent news on their love lives. Former Daphne actress Phoebe Dynevor sparked engagement rumours with her partner Cameron Fuller while attending the Met Gala. The news was eventually confirmed and Phoebe’s mother Sally gushed over the engagement while on the set of Loose Women.
“My daughter just got engaged”, she told Charlene, Linda Robson and Brenda Edwards. “He’s gorgeous, he’s such a lovely man. I’m so, so happy. I’m thrilled, it’s actually made my year.”
But while she’s enthused by the idea of her daughter walking down the aisle, Sally insisted she wouldn’t be getting in the way of the couple’s wedding plans. And she’s already keen on becoming a grandmother.
“To be honest, I’ll be keeping well out of it”, she said, in reference to Phoebe’s upcoming nuptials. “I can’t wait for my grandchildren, let’s not jump ahead.” Phoebe has been romantically involved with multiple celebs over her years in the spotlight.
Elsewhere, Jessica Madsen celebrated the arrival of Pride Month by coming out as bisexual and revealing she was “in love with a woman.”
After making the announcement with a series of snaps to kick off Pride Month, the Cressida Cowper star took to her Instagram story and warned off trolls. “News flash: I’m queer”, she wrote, adding: “don’t interact with me in June unless this is the vibe you’re bringing.”
