Oleksandr Usyk would fight Jake Paul in fantasy MMA fight

On May 18, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury went toe-to-toe in a battle that pitted two of the best boxing brains on the planet against one another in a high-level chess battle.

With ‘The Gypsy King’ presenting such a complex challenge, the Olympic gold medalist had to utilize every last bit of his experience in order to solve the problem in front of him.

After a rocky middle portion of the fight, Usyk downloaded the data and produced a mesmerizing display, almost stopping Fury en route to winning every belt in the heavyweight division.

The moment solidified the 37-year-old as one of the best boxers to ever lace up the gloves. However, as is the case with a lot of competitors, despite achieving everything he ever wanted, the athlete still wants more.

He’s now considering options in other sports, and according to his manager, that could include a collision with Jake Paul inside the cage. However, in order to make that clash a reality, ‘The Problem Child’ would have to adhere to his demands.

Sergey Lapin told Betway: “He’s proven he’s the best of this generation and, once he’s retired Tyson Fury, he will consider his options.

“Maybe that’s dropping down in weight again, or maybe there’s a wildcard option on the table for him; be it in the boxing ring, the MMA cage, or even Conor McGregor’s Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.”

He continued: “Can you imagine Usyk and Jon Jones fighting to prove they’re the baddest man on the planet? Or maybe it’s a third fight with Anthony Joshua in the MMA cage. Maybe it’s Jake Paul at cruiserweight, although Usyk would need to fight him with one hand behind his back though, to make it fair.”

However, before he can pursue ventures outside of boxing, he has one last dance in the squared circle to get through.

When will Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury rematch?

Shortly after the first official defeat of his professional career, a defiant Tyson Fury executed his rematch clause, forcing his rival into a second fight.

While most fans had the reigning champion winning relatively comfortably, ‘The Furious One’ has refused to accept the decision, claiming he won the bout, and only got hurt because he was having too much fun.

In an interview with Furocity, he went as far to claim Usyk resembled nothing more than an ‘amateur boxer’.

Whether Fury genuinely believes this or not is unknown. However, if he is to beat Usyk he’ll have to approach the bout with an entirely new game plan and in better physical condition.

While gifted with remarkable movement for a man of his size, his lack of discipline outside the ring has resulted in a deterioration in the standard of his performances.

The shots he would’ve once slipped are now landing on the target. However, with the rematch reportedly scheduled for December 21, Fury has all the time in the world to get his body in the best shape possible. But whether that will be enough to turn the tables on one of the best to ever do it, remains to be seen.
