Pound-for-pound star Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez has a deep love for the sport of boxing.
His personal mantra is ‘no boxing, no life,’ and he takes the noble sport as seriously as anyone. The multi-weight champion also takes great pride in representing his homeland Mexico when stepping into the ring and always looks to put on a show whenever he competes.
He is as unlikely as anyone to engage in the sort of crossover fights that have become increasingly popular in recent years, and that is certainly the impression he continues to give.
When asked whether he was interested in the controversial upcoming contest between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, the current super-middleweight champion delivered a short, sharp to TMZ Sports.

“Not at all. No.”
He was then asked if it was good having a new broadcaster like Netflix involved in boxing and did agree, but again criticised the bout.
“I think Netflix is good for boxing but I think with that fight, Netflix is doing something wrong there. I think it’s more a show than a fight. At this point I’m not interested.”
Paul and Tyson are separated by almost 30 years in age, and just as much in experience, but will be fighting over ten two-minute rounds in Las Vegas with the result going on both professional records.
Last time out Canelo soundly beat his countryman Jaimie Munguia and he will return this September to face Puerto Rico’s Edgar Berlanga. He has in the past been called out by Paul.
