Boxing legend Butterbean has thrown down the gauntlet to Jake Paul with a £1.5 million fight offer ahead of his bout against Mike Tyson later this year. Paul improved his boxing record to 10-1 following a sixth-round TKO against ex-UFC fighter and bare-knuckle champion Mike Perry earlier this month.

The clash with Perry was organised after health concerns forced ‘Iron Mike’ to delay his much-awaited return to the ring until November. With some time on his hands before he steps into the ring with Tyson, Paul has been offered an all-or-nothing match by boxing icon Butterbean, reports the Mirror.

Eric Esch, better known as Butterbean, is renowned for his formidable knockout power which saw him secure 57 KOs in a career that spanned 77 wins, 10 draws and four losses – and he is keen to add another spectacle to his legacy.

Despite facing criticism for agreeing to fight the 58-year-old Tyson, Paul might find himself in the ring with another veteran if Butterbean has his way. At 57 years old, the boxing icon is looking to make a comeback and sees Paul as a potential opponent in a high-stakes match.

Speaking on TikTok, Butterbean laid out his challenge as he said: “Hey Jake Paul, would you fight me for $2m [£1.5million]? Winner takes all.”

This isn’t the first time the knockout expert has hinted at a desire to face ‘The Problem Child’. Having shed a significant amount of weight with assistance from former WWE star Diamond Dallas Page, Esch has been vocal about his interest in fighting both Paul and Tyson – even before their own fight was arranged.

Jake Paul

Butterbean previously named Paul and Tyson as his preferred opponents for a comeback in 2022. He said: “I’m not a typical boxer, I go out there to fight. I want to knock somebody out.

“Jake Paul or Mike Tyson. Jake Paul runs his mouth too much, he’s never fought nobody, I would love to fight him.

“I think people would like to see me and Tyson go at it, which would be a hell of a draw. Me and Tyson are actually friends but I don’t mind fighting friends.”
