Tyson suffered a health scare whilst onboard a flight this week and rap duo Cam’ron and Ma$e have explained why think he is trying to back out of his fight against Paul
Boxing legend Mike Tyson has been told he is looking for a way to back out of his Jake Paul fight.
Heavyweight icon Tyson will fight influencer-turned-boxer Paul on July 20 at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas. ‘Iron Mike’ suffered a health scare earlier this week when he felt dizzy and nauseous because of an ulcer flare up whilst onboard a flight, but the 57-year-old said he is now “doing great”.
Rap duo Cam’ron and Ma$e claimed they were asked to perform for Tyson’s ring walk against Paul, but turned down the alleged offer because of his recent health episode. “They offered us the walk-out with Mike Tyson,” they said on Come and Talk 2 Me. “This was before this incident and I’m like, ‘I’m not sure if I want to do that.’

“Now, I’m probably not going to do it because I don’t want n****s blaming me for nothing when he don’t win. If we walk Mike out and Mike don’t win, I don’t know if I need that type of pressure.” The other member of the duo then added: “I hope Mike is well but it sounds like Mike is trying to get a way out.
“I know he shouldn’t need one but if they took him off this plane, we want to make sure he’s well. But are we having a fight or not? Is the fight still on? Before this, I had Mike winning the fight. Now, I don’t know.” Tyson has been advised by fans and fighters that he shouldn’t be competing at the age of 58, a birthday he celebrates just weeks before his comeback fight.
Nathan Howarth, Development and Operations Director at the Concussion Legacy Foundation UK, believes that ‘Iron Mike’ could be in danger of suffering a brain injury in the fight. “Boxing has an inherent risk of concussion and then there’s an increased risk of traumatic brain injury we have seen like bleeds on the brain,” he told Betway.
“I’m not saying there is any evidence that as an older fighter, Mike would be at risk of that, however, we do know the impacts of subclinical concussions. It’s particularly important for someone like Mike Tyson who has had a long period of time in the sport anyway.”
