If youâre craving more jello salad, big hair, and Southern charm, youâre in luck. Following a monster debut in the summer of 2025, Netflix quickly handed a season 2 renewal to the Chuck Lorre and Leanne Morgan multi-cam sitcom Leanne. Hereâs our complete, exhaustive guide to everything we know so far about the upcoming second season.
Debuting in July 2025, Leanne quickly became one of Netflixâs biggest comedy swings of the year. Co-created by comedy legend Chuck Lorre, Leanne Morgan, and showrunner Susan McMartin, the series focuses on a demographic television often overlooks and scored massive numbers, racking up an impressive 1.34 billion viewing minutes in its first two weeks in the US (according to Nielsen). According to Netflixâs Engagement numbers, the series picked up 66.8M hours watched throughout the second half of 2026, which equates to 12M views.
With production now officially wrapped, here is your comprehensive preview for Leanne Season 2, including episode titles, cast updates, release windows, and what the creators have been saying.
What is the production status of Leanne Season 2?
Because Leanne is a traditional multi-camera sitcom filmed in front of a live studio audience, production moves incredibly fast.
Filming for Season 2 officially kicked off in mid-January 2026 at the Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, California. Star Leanne Morgan confirmed the return to set via social media on January 14th with a heartfelt post:
âItâs a family reunion!! 𼰠I am SO thrilled to be back on set in LA filming SEASON 2 of âLEANNEâ!! Yâall made this happen and I canât wait to share it with you!! â¤ď¸ @netflix @NetflixIsAJokeâ

Fans were able to snag free tickets via 1iota to attend the live tapings, which ran through the late winter. We can confirm that the cast and crew celebrated the official wrap of Season 2 production over the weekend following the finale taping on April 10, 2026.
Kristen Johnston, posting from the wrap party, wrote, âThatâs a wrap on season 2 of Leanne! Canât wait for you guys to see the sweet insanity weâve cooked up for you. I really think youâre gonna love it. An escape we all need. Coming this summer on Netflix!â
When will Leanne Season 2 be on Netflix?
While Netflix hasnât circled an exact day on the calendar just yet, the show was officially included in the streamerâs âNext on Netflix 2026â slate. Currently, sources tell us the series is eyeing an August 2026 return, which is backed up by Johnstonâs post claiming a Summer release. If this target window holds, it will perfectly mirror the summer release strategy of Season 1, which dropped on July 31st.
How many episodes will be in Leanne Season 2? (Plus Episode Titles!)
There was quite a bit of mystery surrounding the exact episode count earlier this year. While Season 1 received a massive, old-school 16-episode order, Netflix poured cold water on early rumors that Season 2 would be heavily reduced to just eight episodes.
We now know for a fact that Season 2 will feature at least 10 episodes. Weâve also managed to track down the episode titles for the upcoming season. Here they are (listed in alphabetical order):
A Prison of Love
An EnhancementâŚOr Two
Bang Me
Big Hammer Energy
Fit as a Fiddle
Have A Rocky Top Day
Pickles Are Forever
The Big Hm-Hm
The Old Cat Had Her Reasons
Three Degrees of Southern Women
The writersâ room for season 2 features a tight-knit core team mixing and matching story and teleplay duties across the 10 episodes. Series co-creator Chuck Lorre naturally kicks things off by co-writing the story for the season premiere alongside Nick Bakay, while Mark Gross and Julie Bean penned the teleplay. Throughout the rest of the season, the heavy lifting is handled by a rotating combination of Bakay, Gross, Bean, Amy Hubbs, and John Jack OâBrien, who continuously collaborate to swap story and teleplay credits. As the season progresses, the core group is also joined by Kelly Farrell (who steps in for episodes 6 and 9) and Alexandra Melnick (who co-writes the teleplay for episode 7).
Who is returning for the Season 2 cast?
You canât have Leanne without the core family. The main ensemble is locked in to return for Season 2, including:
Leanne Morgan as Leanne
Kristen Johnston as Carol (Leanneâs unfiltered sister)
Celia Weston as Mama Margaret
Blake Clark as Daddy John
Ryan Stiles as Bill (Leanneâs ex-husband)
Graham Rogers as Tyler
Hannah Pilkes as Josie

You can also expect to see recurring favorites like Jayma Mays, Annie Gonzalez, and Blake Gibbons pop back up.
What about new guest stars?
While Netflix hasnât made any major casting announcements, several exciting names have been spotted via IMDb. The most notable is Emmy-winner Tyne Daly, who is slated to guest star as a character named Nancy. Fun fact: Tyne is the real-life sister of Tim Daly, who played Leanneâs love interest, Andrew, in Season 1!
Other unconfirmed guest names floating around include Jimmy Walker Jr. (Gus), Todd Giebenhain (Garrett), Kristen OâMeara (Kelly), Dale E. Turner (Larry), and Alex Alcheh (Danny).
What the cast and crew are saying about Season 2
The team behind the show has been incredibly vocal about their gratitude for the seriesâ breakout success.
When the renewal was officially announced, Leanne Morgan shared her gratitude for the opportunity:
âWeâre coming back for a second season! I am so grateful to all the writers, producers, Netflix, WB, our amazing cast, and especially for all the fans of the show. Yâall did this for us, and we canât wait to be back!â
Co-creator Chuck Lorre has been equally effusive in his praise for both his leading lady and the streamer:
âMuch thanks and gratitude to Netflix for this amazing opportunity. Congrats to Leanne and the entire cast and crew. This has been an incredible journey that began with a visit to Knoxville, Tennessee. Leanne Morgan is the whole package. A comedic genius, a warm, loving human being, and an absolute joy to work with.
We previously sat down with star Hannah Pilkes (who plays Josie) to talk about the magic of filming Season 1. When asked about her hopes for Season 2, she noted how much sheâs learned from comedy legends like Kristen Johnston and Celia Weston, and added: âEverybody is VERY funny.. youâll have to ask Netflix about a season 2, but Iâm crossing my fingers and my toes!!â. Luckily, those crossed fingers paid off!
Need something to tide you over?
If you canât wait until August, donât forget you can stream Leanne Morganâs smash-hit 2023 special Iâm Every Woman, as well as her recent follow-up special, Unspeakable (which dropped in November 2025 and quickly became one of the most-watched special debuts of the year), right now on Netflix. She also has a third stand-up special slated for 2027.
