Marvel Trolls Fans: ‘WandaVision’ Spinoff ‘Agatha’ Confirms Release Date and Ultimate Title

Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness in Marvel Studios' WANDAVISION

The Marvel Studios series and WandaVision spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn finally has a set title.

Agatha All Along is the official title of the series, it was revealed at Disney’s upfront presentation Tuesday. Hahn and co-stars Joe Locke and Patti LuPone were on stage making the reveal, with the trio also unveiling the release date of Sept. 18. The show will premiere with two episodes, which is standard for Marvel.

The series has had several titles since it was announced in 2021. The subtitles have ranged from House of Harkness to Darkhold Diaries to Coven of Chaos. There have been so many title changes that it became a joke, with Marvel leaning in on the constant changes. In fact, Agatha: The Lying Witch with the Great Wardrobe popped up as a title on social media yesterday.

The new title is actually the name of the Agatha theme song that debuted in the seventh episode of WandaVision. The song became a viral sensation, and even earned composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez an Emmy award.

In addition to Hahn, Heartstopper breakout Locke and stage star LuPone, the cast includes Aubrey Plaza, comedian Sasheer Zamata, former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Emma Caulfield and That ’70s Show motherly mainstay Debra Jo Rupp.

Jac Schaeffer serves as head writer and exec producer of Agatha. There is creative continuity from WandaVision to the new show, as Schaeffer was also the head writer and exec producer on the Emmy-winning WandaVision.

The show was initially set for a winter 2023 release but was pushed back due to the actors and writers strikes.

Marvel’s presentation also had a look at Ironheart and showed footage from Daredevil: Born Again, with stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio saying the show would hit Disney+ in March 2025.
