Josie Gibson was lost for words when she interviewed Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount on This Morning and he took on the role of his character Alfie

Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle were on hand to host Friday’s instalment of This Morning and welcomed Lucien Laviscount onto the blue sofa.

The actor is set to reprise his role as Alfie in Emily in Paris next week and Craig remarked he sounds very different to his character who is from London.

Craig remarked: “I expected you to sound like him,” as Lucien replied: “Oh no, I’m from Burnley. I feel like I let people down when I talk. I’m like, ‘Alright mate, you alright?’ and they’re like, ‘nah, it can’t be him.'”

Craig begged: “Give us a bit of Alfie, can you give us a bit of Alfie from London,” with the actor then adopting a Cockney accent.Josie Gibson’s six-word response as Emily in Paris star leaves her flustered

As Lucien spoke, Josie was left flustered before commenting: “Cor, that has done something to me there.”

Lucien laughed as Josie struggled to speak and Craig called for someone to come and read her mind. The host warned: “I wouldn’t, I wouldn’t.” She went on to apologise as Lucien remarked: “See the Burnley just doesn’t have the same affect.” Josie assured him: “It does but that was something else.”

Despite Lucien’s character Alfie breaking up with Emily in the season three finale, he will be returning. He explained Alfie simply wants the best for Emily when the series returns and even hinted at another love rival for his character.

The moment came after Josie halted This Morning just minutes into the episode as fans complained it had the “worst start”. Josie and Craig opened the show with 90s music and danced around with Tim Campbell and Gyles Brandreth.

Craig’s music choice was Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit and he proceeded to jump up and down with Josie unimpressed. She paused the show and said: “No, oh no, it is too much for me.”

Fans complained online with one posting on social media: “Is this the worst opening segment to a This Morning episode in history?” while another added: “#ThisMorning Worst start to a show ever.”
