Thanks to his new Netflix show, Ransom Canyon, Josh Duhamel is back in the spotlight—and so is his love life. Once upon a time, way back in the early noughties, Josh Duhamel was the leading man of the moment.

Starring opposite some of the era’s most loveable ingenues, like Kate Bosworth (Win A Date With Tad Hamilton) and Kristen Bell (When In Rome), Duhamel was a certified rom-com king. Now, he’s returning to screens (and hearts) via a new western romantic drama opposite Leighton Meester lookalike, Minka Kelly.

Needless to say, we’re so ready.

But what of Duhamel’s relationships off screen? We all remember when he was married to the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie. But whatever happened to them? And, perhaps more importantly, is he single now?

Who Is Josh Duhamel’s Wife?

If you were hoping Josh Duhamel was single, we have some bad news. He is indeed taken—and she seems pretty cool.

Josh Duhamel is married to model, TV presenter and beauty queen, Audra Mari. The two met in 2019, after Duhamel slid into Mari’s DMs. He’d recognised her as she’d won some beauty pageants in his home state of North Dakota. He invited her to a BBQ and was immediately smitten with her beauty, but didn’t think a romance would be possible due to their 21-year age gap.

Things seem to have worked out for the two, who were married in 2022 and welcomed a son in January 2024.

Josh was previously married to singer Fergie, with whom he also shares a son.

Does Josh Duhamel Have Kids?

Josh Duhamel has two kids: Axl and Shepherd.

Axl was born in August 2013, to Duhamel and his then-wife Fergie, the lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas. Nearly a decade later, Duhamel welcomed a second son, Shepherd, born in January 2024 to his second wife, Audra Mari.

Axl was named after Guns ‘N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, and has a taste for acting like his dad. “He loves it. He’s in his little theatre class,” Duhamel told Fatherly in 2023. However, Duhamel has drawn the line at letting Axl enter show business too early. “He can do whatever he wants when he’s old enough. But he’s not going to be a child actor. He’s not going to be auditioning or getting an agent or anything until he can do it on his own. I want him to be a kid.” As of April 2025, Axl is 11 years old.

Duhamel has spoken about co-parenting Axl with his ex, Fergie, saying she’s “an amazing woman”.

“Thankfully Fergie’s an amazing woman, she really is,” he said on The Jess Cagle show in 2023. “She’s taken [Duhamel’s new wife] Audra in. It could be much worse.

“You never know how these things are going to go. But because she’s such a kind-hearted person, she really, truly is, she only has love for Audra. I can’t believe how excited she is for us. It could be a lot worse. I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it. And thankfully we have a really civil situation.”

When Duhamel and Mari announced they were expecting, Fergie commented on their Instagram post: “I am truly happy for you guys! Axl can’t wait to be a big brother.” Duhamel has also said that Axl has embraced his step mother, Audra.

Fergie, 2004-2019

While we’re sure Duhamel had romances before this, his first major relationship in the spotlight was with singer Fergie. The two met in 2004 when the Black Eyed Peas filmed a cameo on Josh’s show Las Vegas.

According to People, Duhamel, then 32, had a crush on Fergie, but flubbed his opening line. “After they finished rehearsing, I was walking out, and all of a sudden, she was walking toward me,” he said. “I was like, ‘Oh boy.’ She stopped. And this is so sad, but I said, in this desperate voice, ‘You’re hot!’ The crush of a lifetime, and that was my line!”

The two became engaged three years later and were eventually wed in 2009 in a lavish ceremony in Malibu. They welcomed their first and only son in August 2013.

In 2017, news broke that the two had separated. Their divorce was finalised in 2019. Duhamel has since said the pair split because they were just “very different”, and he struggled with life in the public eye. The pair remain on good terms and continue to co-parent their son, Axl.

Josh and Baby Driver actress Eiza Gonzalez went public with a romance in 2018. The two were spotted on a handful of dates, and even took a mini-break to Mexico over a 4th of July weekend. However, the romance was short lived, with the pair splitting after only five months. Sources told People the two drifted apart due to “tough work schedules”.

Audra Mari, 2019-present

Josh and Audra began dating in 2019 and were married in 2022. The two welcomed their son, Shepherd, in January 2024. They reside in rural Minnesota.
