First on LateNighter: It’s been more than six weeks since Greg Gutfeld was last seen on Fox News, but mama, he’s coming home.
A rep for the cable news network confirmed to LateNigher early Sunday that Gutfeld will back on the air Monday, January 6, 2025, on both Gutfeld!, and on The Five.
Rumors began flying in early December after Gutfeld went missing without explanation from both shows for several weeks, ultimately prompting the host to release a statement with the unexpected news that he and his wife, Elena Moussa, had welcomed a baby girl. The child, whom they revealed is named Mira, is the couple’s first.
“She has Elena’s beautiful eyes and my rock-hard abs,” Gutfeld joked in the statement, which was shared on both of his shows. “We have been hard at work teaching her three languages and putting her through a rigorous workout routine.”
The host later posted a message to his fans directly on Twitter/X, writing “see, that’s how you keep a secret. thanks to all the nice words! see ya in a few!”
Gutfeld!, the show, has continued without Gutfeld, the host, with Kat Timpf, Tyrus, and Tom Shillue helping to keep his seat warm.
Gutfeld’s nightly show, which originated in April 2021 with an 11pm ET timeslot before moving to its current perch at 10pm ET, has become a ratings juggernaut for the cable news network.
According to year-end Nielsen ratings data released by Fox News, 2024 saw Gutfeld! grew its nightly average to 2,500,000 total viewers, a 35% increase over last year. Among viewers aged 25-54, it was a similar story, with a nightly average of 355,000 viewers, up 33% year-over-year.
The show now draws the most total viewers across all of cable TV at 10pm ET, and is the highest rated show across all of cable news among viewers 25-54.
Gutfeld himself has a busy 2025 ahead. In addition to being a new dad and his regular hosting duties on Gutfeld! and The Five, he’s lined up a dozen tour dates across the country.
