Rihanna has made her grand return to the Cannes Film Festival.
The “Work” singer — who revealed her third pregnancy to the world earlier this month ahead of the Met Gala on May 5 — made her long-awaited return to the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival to support A$AP Rocky at the premiere of his new movie, Highest 2 Lowest.
For the occasion, the pop star wowed in a summer ready blue dress — the gown featured a high cut, halter neckline that extended into a figure hugging, floor length silhouette.
The top portion of the dress featured cut outs around her stomach, curving with maternity, that tied into knots and oversized ruffled knots on the side of her stomach. The bottom half of the dress featured even more of the elegant ruffles and was semi-sheer, allowing the outline of her legs to show through the fabric of the gown.

Rihanna at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2025 Rihanna, 37, kept the rest of her look equally chic. To complete her outfit, she accessorized with rings worn on both of her hands, diamond encrusted stud earrings in the shape of a butterfly and leaf at her earlobe, and wore a matching ocean blue clutch held firmly in her hand.
Ahead of the premiere, the Fenty Beauty founder stopped for photos with fans, signing autographs before heading into the screening.
Following the movie’s debut, Rihanna was seen walking arm-in-arm with A$AP Rocky. The rapper, 36, also held an umbrella over the pregnant singer, preventing her from getting wet as it rained over the red carpet while they and the rest of the Highest 2 Lowest cast and crew left the theater.

Rihanna attends the ‘Okja’ screening during the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2017
Rihanna’s appearance at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival marks her first time attending the event in eight years. She previously walked the red carpet at Cannes on May 19, 2017 for the premiere of Okja.
For her 2017 look, Rihanna wowed in Dior Haute Couture’s off-white silk taffeta coat and bustier dress. The bridal-inspired look was completed with edgier touches through the addition of angular sunglasses by Andy Wolf Eyewear and several black and emerald pieces from her collaborative jewelry collection with Chopard.

The pop star also had a second look at Cannes in 2017. For her appearance at the Chopard “Space” party that year, she wore another blue gown in a silk fabric. The custom Adam Selman dress featured a corset bustier that contained off-the-shoulder sleeves, attached shorts, and an ankle length skirt with a leg-baring slit at the front. Much like her Cannes red carpet debut that night, Rihanna also accessorized with Chopard jewelry.
