Despite Antony Starr’s criminal record, one The Boys co-star came to the his defense, in an ironic twist of fate.

Antony Starr’s performance in The Boys has put Homelander on the same level as other iconic villains in Hollywood, such as Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter, and Norman Bates. However, co-stars of Antony Starr have repeatedly pointed out how unlike his on-screen character the Outrageous Fortune alum is.

However, Starr had opened up about one of his more negative aspects, one that landed him in some trouble with the law while he was in Spain. In 2022, the actor was given a 12-month suspended sentence and ordered to pay $5500 as a fine, as reported by the Spanish outlet, Información.

Despite the violent confrontation that he was a part of, one of The Boys co-stars came to his defense, who, ironically, has been tortured and tormented more than a few times by Homelander on screen.

Homelander takes a special kind of joy when it comes to torturing Starlight and those near and dear to her. Erin Moriarty, who is often on the receiving end of a lot of punishment on screen from Antony Starr’s Homelander, revealed that she never felt “uncomfortable or unsafe” around Starr. She said:

It definitely helps that Antony, in addition to being professionally present as a human being, is so unlike Homelander and so kind and so funny.

She also said that she would never feel unsafe working with the actor, given how professionally present, attentive, kind, and funny he is. Antony Starr, speaking with the New York Times, talked about his conviction in Spain, to which the actor pled guilty. He said:

You own it. You learn from it. You move forward.

And it does seem that the actor has moved forward from it, having no other public record of run-ins with the law. However, as sweet and caring as Antony Starr in real life, Homelander is just as menacing, and now is the most powerful man in the United States in the world of The Boys, politically, legally, and physically.

There is little doubt about the fact that Homelander is going to kick it in The Boys, Season 5. However, what remains to be seen is who is going to get the killing blow to bring the character down. Starlight, Billy Butcher, and Ryan are all strong candidates with their own horses in the game.

Starlight has been harassed by Homelander during her entire career in The Seven, and the maniac of a Supe has continued to make her life hell through smear campaigns and physical torture whenever he can. Giving Starlight the final blow to kill Homelander might feel right to some, but there are two candidates who are much more deserving of the honor.

Ryan had a very rough time in Season 4 of The Boys. Not only was the child subjected to some brutal parenting from Homelander, but he also learned that he was in the running to be a superweapon who could kill his father. After this, he also learned that he was a result of his father assaulting his mother. Further, Ryan also had his first deliberate kill, murdering Grace before he went on his way.

This, of course, broke Billy Butcher, who was reluctant to use the Supe virus on Homelander, given that it would put himself, Ryan, Kimiko, and Annie in danger as well. However, after witnessing Ryan kill Grace, Billy is hellbent on going scorched earth on Homelander, not willing to hold back at all.

The Boys Season 4 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
