Tiger Woods and his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, sent the public a clear message about their relationship status only a few days before Woods was arrested following a car accident on Jupiter Island.

Woods and Trump shared a kiss and hug on the golf course on March 24, 2026, during the TGL finals, according to the Palm Beach Post. She is the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. and the mother of his five kids, including daughter Kai, who is forging a golfing career of her own. Kai was seen applauding Woods at the event alongside her mom. Kai and Vanessa were also photographed watching Woods play on March 3.

Vanessa and Kai were not in Woods’ vehicle during the crash, The New York Post reported via sources. According to The Palm Beach Post, Tiger Woods has been arrested in connection with the crash, has been charged with DUI with property damage, and refused to submit to a test.

Just days before, all looked good as Woods and Vanessa “shared a romantic moment before Woods competed in the TGL match against Los Angeles Golf Club during the golf finals in Palm Beach Gardens,” The Post reported of the March 24 embrace, which went viral on social media.

Woods’ vehicle was photographed on its side.

“Initially, right off the top, it appeared that the driver of the Land Rover might be impaired,” Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said in a news conference. He said that, shortly before 2 p.m., a pressure cleaner truck pulling a small trailer was trying to turn into a driveway when the driver looked in his mirror and saw a dark colored Land Rover – Woods’ vehicle – overtaking him at “high speeds.”

He tried to edge off the small two-lane road without a shoulder. “As he was trying to move to the side of the road, the Land Rover” swerved to avoid a collision and clipped the trailer and then rolled, the sheriff said. The man driving the Land Rover crawled out of the passenger door and was identified as Tiger Woods. He “did exemplify signs of impairment,” added Budensiek, who said that Woods underwent tests and explained the surgeries and injuries he has had, which were taken into account.

Authorities conducted in-depth roadside tests. At the jail and on scene, “we really weren’t suspicious of alcohol being involved in this case. Woods did a breathalyzer, he blew triple zeroes,” but he refused to do a urinalysis test, so he was arrested, the sheriff added. TMZ reported that medication may be involved, not alcohol, as a result. Neither Woods nor the other driver was injured, the sheriff said.

The pair confirmed they were a couple in March 2025.

“Love is in the air, and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together,” Woods wrote in an Instagram post that confirmed the relationship.

Kai Trump went to school with Woods’ two kids, according to The Post. Vanessa’s Instagram page describes her as “balancing motherhood of 5 amazing kiddies!” Her page is mostly filled with photos of Kai golfing.

“Congratulations on your first 
LPGA tournament! Watching you give it your all was inspiring. This is just the beginning! I’m very proud of you,” Vanessa wrote of Kai in November.

According to Fox News, Vanessa and Woods generally keep their relationship very private. Woods’ son Charlie and Kai are both headed to college to continue their golfing careers and even playing in the same tournament, Fox News reported.

According to TMZ Sports, Woods has been recovering from a tendon and back injury as he tries to mount a comeback in professional golf. It’s not his first crash. “Woods was involved in a severe crash in California in 2021, where he suffered multiple leg injuries,” WPTV reported.

Woods was married once, to ex-wife Elin Nordegren, a marriage that lasted six years. However, they divorced in 2010 after a cheating scandal engulfed the professional golfer, who is worth an estimated $1.5 billion.

In 2009, the couple’s marriage ruptured publicly after yet another Woods car crash, this one in their driveway. Woods “was rescued from his car after a crash outside his home by his wife who smashed the vehicle’s back window with a golf club,” The Guardian reported, adding that he suffered facial lacerations after striking a fire hydrant and tree around 2:25 a.m. while driving away from his home.

After news of his alleged affairs consumed the headlines, Nordegren had had enough and filed for divorce.

“Money can’t buy happiness,” Nordegren told People. “Or put my family back together.”

“I’ve been through hell,” she told the magazine. “It’s hard to think you have this life, and then all of a sudden—was it a lie? You’re struggling because it wasn’t real. But I survived. It was hard, but it didn’t kill me.”

The former couple appears to have formed a friendship, at least.

My regret will last a lifetime,” Woods wrote in his 2017 book, Tiger Woods – Unprecedented, The Masters and Me, according to People. “Still, Elin and I are devoted to our kids, and we have become best friends as we care for them. It’s all about the kids for us.”
