Former “9 to 5” co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are back together again in a new Netflix series, “Grace and Frankie.”
Thirty-five years ago, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda teamed up gloriously in the hit revenge comedy “9 to 5” — and they’ve remained pals ever since.

That friendship shone through during their visit to TODAY Tuesday, where they talked to Matt Lauer about reuniting for a new Netflix series, “Grace and Frankie,” and what it means to grow older under the spotlight.
Here are four of our favorite exchanges from the ladies who laugh!
Who’s changed the most in three-and-a-half decades?
Lily Tomlin: “I’ve changed the most.”
Jane Fonda: “You’re just the same as you were! I’m three husbands later.”
What’s it like to have such a long-term friendship?
Fonda: “She disappears in a hole and I have to go and fish her out.”
Tomlin: “That’s not entirely true.”
Fonda: “It’s been 10 years since you invited me to your house!”
On the challenge of finding great roles for women:
Fonda: “They’re all stereotyped. Or we’re the brunt of jokes. We wanted to do a show that would get into the reality of being older. And that means you’re braver.”
Tomlin: “You have arthritis. Things like that.”
Fonda: “I look at the positive side. The FU-50s we call it. Once you’re over 50, it’s like, ‘Who cares any more?'”
What would they do over, career-wise?
Tomlin: “I think I would do over the last do-over I had.”
Fonda: “I don’t think in terms of do-overs. I just think about going forward, better. I mean, I’d like to redo my whole life!”
