Actor Regé-Jean Page is most known for his leading role in Season 1 of Netflix’s Bridgerton. For his performance in the popular Regency-era romance, Page received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series. Since then, he’s also starred in the fantasy film Dungeon & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and the action movie The Gray Man.
And while acting remains his priority, he stepped into the kitchen—or should we say behind the bar—for his most recent collaboration. Page has partnered with Seedlip, a nonalcoholic spirit company aiming to create sophisticated beverages without the alcohol. The collaboration resulted in the Regé-Jean Page X Seedlip Summer Cocktail Kit, which features ingredients to make two summery drinks, candles and more.
In this interview, we got the inside scoop from Page about his go-to activity that helps him relax while traveling, the meal he never misses and more. Read on to get an exclusive peek into his life.
EatingWell: What is your not-to-miss meal of the day?
Page: Breakfast! Mostly because it’s the only meal I’m usually guaranteed to have time to get to sit down with in my schedule. Everything else tends to kind of happen or not, or get grabbed in between things. But, breakfast, I can usually make sure I’m up early enough to set aside some time with a coffee and the papers to slowly get my head into the day.
EatingWell: What ritual or activity helps you relax when you are juggling a busy travel schedule?
Page: Stretching. You’d be amazed how much a little stretching and release work can do to clear your mind and lift your mood, especially if you can make space to move a little, too, and get the blood flowing.
EatingWell: What drew you to partnering with Seedlip to create this summer cocktail kit?
Page: I was excited to show people the possibilities Seedlip opens up and just how easy it can be to create an elevated experience for yourself and your friends. Both are based on Seedlip’s latest addition to the portfolio, Notas de Agave, which has refreshing lime and prickly pear notes. My favorite way to drink Seedlip is simple, with no frills, so we included two really vibrant spritz recipes—Oasis Spritz and Sunset Spritz—which I paired with candles. The kit has everything you need to effortlessly create the perfect backdrop for great moments with friends.
EatingWell: Do you have any recommendations on meals or snacks that pair well with the cocktails?
Page: The drinks share a really sophisticated kind of simplicity, so the cocktails can be paired with anything. The Oasis Spritz is great for a beach day paired with something light and spicy, and the Sunset Spritz suits a relaxing night in with friends and a charcuterie board, or before hitting the town. So it’s a bit of everything!
EatingWell: Do you have a comfort meal that reminds you of home?
Page: Sushi always reminds me of my adopted home of Los Angeles. I always find it easiest to get pretty decent sushi there without breaking the bank. Some of the best spots are really unassuming strip mall restaurants. A sushi dinner reminds me of heat, great sunsets and an ocean breeze.
EatingWell: What does “eating well” mean to you?
Page: Eating well, to me, means balance. It’s not about restriction or indulgence, it’s just about consuming in a way that supports your health and happiness. Sometimes that’s treating yourself, sometimes it’s being a little mindful and, when you’re lucky, everything can sit in balance and just be easy. And with the Seedlip cocktails, we hoped to create something that you get to just enjoy—classic cocktails that fit right into your day or evening, and then you still wake up refreshed and ready to go again.
