Prince Louis Knew About Kate Middleton’s Christmas Concert ‘Secret’ (but He Promised to Not Tell Princess Charlotte)

There were several key takeaways from Kate Middleton’s Christmas carol concert, including Prince George and Prince Louis’s resemblance to their dad, Prince William, and Princess Catherine’s super-telling body language. There’s no denying that the Princess of Wales deserves all the praise for hosting the annual event after she recently completed chemotherapy treatment. But if I had to applaud someone other than Kate, it would be Prince Louis.

Last week, the royal family gathered at Westminster Abbey for Princess Catherine’s annual holiday service, titled “Together at Christmas.” Before the concert began, the Princess of Wales spoke with Sky News about the ballet dancers that she hired to perform during the holiday concert.

The royal revealed that she purposely kept it a secret from her 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, who’s currently enrolled in dance classes. Princess Catherine was astonished that the ballerinas stayed a surprise for Princess Char because her 6-year-old son, Prince Louis, knew about the dancers…and he’s not the best at keeping secrets. (After all, he’s only 6.)

“Louis knew about the dancers and was talking about them over tea,” Princess Catherine recalled. “He said, ‘What’s the secret?’ I said, ‘Louis, can you keep a secret? Because I want it to be a surprise for Charlotte, who loves her ballet [classes].’”

The Princess of Wales explained that Prince Louis was sworn to secrecy, adding, “He said, ‘Promise! Promise I won’t say anything.’ And he’s kept the secret.”

Princess Catherine admitted that she was genuinely impressed by Prince Louis because she expected him to spill the beans. “This is what, for, maybe, two weeks? For a six-year-old!” she continued. “Then, this morning, he said, ‘Mummy, please can I tell her? I’m bursting.’”

Despite Prince Louis’s desperation, he seemingly kept his promise. Princess Catherine added, “I did the [school] drop-off and he really wanted to tell her, but, I think hopefully he has kept it. I don’t think he has said anything. I asked her just before we left, ‘Do you know what the surprise is?’ And she said, ‘No.’”

Way to go, Prince Louis.
