The Bridgerton star had the best response to a journalist who said she was “brave” to bare her body onscreen, and has long been open about the conversation surrounding her figure.

Bridgerton Nicola Coughlan is making waves with her groundbreaking performance in the show’s steamy third season and she’s not bothered by any commentary on her figure.

At a recent Q&A in Dublin following a screening, when a journalist commended her for being “very brave” to show her body onscreen as Penelope Featherington, she replied by saying: “You know, it is hard because I think women with my body type-women with perfect breasts – we don’t get to see ourselves onscreen enough.”

Nicola – who has been raising huge sums of cash for Palenstine in a bold humanitarian effort – added proudly, “And I’m very proud as a member of the perfect breasts community. I hope you enjoy seeing them.”

Coughlan, who stars alongside Luke Newton as Colin, has been generating buzz with her portrayal of Penelope this season, especially after a steamy carriage ride scene that set the internet ablaze. The upcoming episodes promise even more intimate moments between the pair, which Coughlan had a hand in shaping with her co-star and the series’ intimacy coordinator, Lizzy Talbot, reports Vanity Fair.

“I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included,” she disclosed to Stylist Magazine (as reported by Buzzfeed). “There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice. It just felt like the biggest ‘f*** you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering.”She also mentioned feeling “felt beautiful” during those scenes and expressed her desire to “look back on this and remember how ——- hot I looked.”

The actor, renowned for her role in the hit comedy Derry Girls, has consistently voiced her preference for the public to disregard her physical appearance. “If you have an opinion about my body please, please don’t share it with me…” she implored on Instagram in 2022.

“It’s really hard to take the weight of thousands of opinions on how you look being sent directly to you every day.” In a later conversation with the Irish Times, she emphasized, “All I care about is the work. Bodies change, if I lose weight or gain weight or I do anything it’s no one’s business, all I care about is doing good acting and being judged on that.”
