Netflix viewers are insisting that other film fans watch a 2019 movie that’s recently landed on the streaming platform.
Making it even better, the film is based on a true story – which usually means that you’re onto a winner.
Boasting an all-star cast, Anne Hathaway and Mark Ruffalo star as the film’s leads, with Tom Robbins and Bill Camp also featuring.
Titled Dark Waters, the critically acclaimed film is based on the true story of Robert Bilott, an American lawyer [portrayed by Marvel star Ruffalo] who sued DuPont for decades for contaminating drinking water with the chemical PFOA.
The movie’s synopsis reads: “A corporate defense attorney takes on an environmental lawsuit against a chemical company that exposes a lengthy history of pollution.”
While the film is five years old, it has only just been added to Netflix this month – and subscribers have been raving about the thriller ever since.
Taking to Facebook page Netflix Bangers, one person described it as a ‘good one’.

“Very good and eye opening,” echoed a second viewer, as a third person continued to gush: “Good movie! Very enlightening on how much pull DuPont has.”
Another person said: “5 Stars! I wish there were more movies that were as good as this one!”
People have also been raving about the Dark Waters on X of late.
A viewer penned: “If you liked Spotlight then go to @netflix and watch Dark Waters, incredible film based on a true story about poisoning the American people for profit. Shocking depiction of what people in power are capable of.”
“DARK WATERS is on Netflix and I highly recommend it to basically everyone,” said another.
A different person raved: “Dark Waters just came out on Netflix with Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway and this movie is a movie everyone needs to watch.”
Meanwhile, one fan hailed Ruffalo’s performance in the movie as ‘fantastic’.

If this still doesn’t sound up your street, as host of other great films have already landed on Netflix this month.
Some of these include: Blended, Eat Pray Love, The Peanut Butter Falcon, and War Dogs.
Cult classics Shrek and Shrek Forever after also landed on the streaming platform on May 1.
