Perry believes that he might be getting overlooked to some degree.

Untitled design (1)Mike Perry has waited a long time to get an opportunity to really make a name for himself in the boxing world.

“Platinum” has, of course, been a revelation in bare-knuckle boxing since signing with BKFC where he has achieved great success.

At the same time, competing as a former UFC fighter against fellow ex-MMA competitors is one thing but boxing Jake Paul is a whole new kind of spotlight.

Perry was never going to turn down the chance to box “The Problem Child” on July 20, the original date that was planned for Paul’s contest with Mike Tyson.

Now that he has his chance, BKFC’s “King of Violence” is ready to deliver.

Mike Perry Says Jake Paul’s Team Could Be Underestimating Him In This Fight

In an interview with Michael Bisping, Perry spoke about his mentality for this fight.

Despite the fact that it will be just him and Paul inside the ring inside, “Platinum” still views boxing as a team sport to some extent.

With this in mind, he believes that Paul’s team may be overlooking him slightly because he hasn’t proven his skills in a traditional boxing ring.

Perry believes that if Tommy Fury was able to beat Paul back in February last year, he can do the same with what he brings to the table.

“I think they’re a little bit cocky and arrogant in how they think this goes and me and my coach, we love a great fight. We love a real brawl, a real battle and that’s where I thrive and we’re gonna have one because he had one with Tommy Fury but I think that I bring a lot more viciousness to the table than Tommy Fury.

“Tommy was able to take Jake’s hits pretty well and I believe I can do that even better and return fire with better shots. Tommy boxed and backed up more, I’m looking to get inside and be powerful.”

Despite Perry’s comments on Paul’s team, he doesn’t necessarily hold this against them and it doesn’t affect his approach in the fight.

“I don’t have anything to be negative about. It’s two teams that have come together, we’re doing business together because we both do great business and at the end of the night, I will execute my plan and execute him.”
