The actress is picking up a new hobby thanks to her ‘Bridgerton’ costar

Nicola Coughlan is making memories with her fellow Bridgerton costars.

The Irish leading lady, 37, is learning a new hobby thanks to cast mate Luke Newton, who plays her love interest in the Regency-era Netflix series.

“Bridgerton on Film,” the actress captioned an Instagram carousel shared to her account on Tuesday, June 18. The cover photo showed her standing with Newton, 31, while on set as she rested her head on his shoulder.

She also shared a brief message about her newfound skill before critics had a chance to chime in.

“Still learning so they’re not all amazing but lots of beautiful memories 🩵,” she wrote. “Camera the best gift from @lukenewtonuk.”

Fans in her comment section raved about the photos.

“I’m gonna tell my kids these are their grandparents,” one person quipped. Another wrote, “I can HEAR claudia’s laugh just by seeing this picture 😂,” referring to Claudia Jessie — who can be seen laughing in the second photo. Jessie, 34, plays Eloise Bridgerton in the series.

Although multiple cast and crew members appeared in the upload, one thing was for sure — the fans are showing support for “POLIN FOREVER ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

The Penelope Featherington (Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Newton) nickname mashup is a testament to the beloved characters. The pair, who get extremely close on set, are also close in real life.

One month before posting some of her favorite behind-the-scenes photos from the Bridgerton set, she shared a few of her favorite behind-the-scenes moments.

In May, the actress spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about the prank she pulled on Newton after learning about his boy band past.

“We had a fun one in one of the balls where Luke is meant to come in and interrupt a dance,” Coughlan told PEOPLE.

“I had found out a few years previous that Luke used to be in a boy band, and I just thought it was the best thing ever,” she said in a joint interview with Newton. “I had for years wanted to do this prank on him where he comes in to do a dance and instead of the music for the show playing, it would be his song from his boy band, but it took so much planning, it was insane.”

Newton admitted the joke turned out to be “amazing,” but Coughlan recalled feeling “really nervous.”

She added that others on the set were in on the prank.

“The cameras were set up to turn to be on him,” she said. Newton admitted he could sense there was a shift in the room just before the big reveal.

“I could feel that there was like, people were looking at me over their shoulder and I was like, are people nervous about me doing this dance? Because I’m absolutely fine, we’ll get through it,” he told PEOPLE.

Ultimately, the joke (which was filmed) went off without a hitch — background dancers included.

All three seasons of Bridgerton — as well as its spinoff, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story — are now streaming on Netflix.
