Jorge Masvidal poses on the scale during the UFC 287 official weigh-in at the Hilton Downtown Miami hotel on April 07, 2023 in Miami, Florida.

Jorge Masvidal isn’t done chasing Conor McGregor yet, with the Miami brawler accusing ‘The Notorious’ of going above and beyond to avoid signing on the dotted line.

With both men boasting enormous PPV numbers, a clash between the pair would undoubtedly do fantastic business for the UFC.

Jorge Masvidal fires shots at Conor McGregor

On July 6, Jorge Masvidal will make his first walk to the boxing ring since 2005 when he takes on Nate Diaz at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, USA.

The eagerly-anticipated clash will give the pair an opportunity to settle a feud that’s lingered since their MMA bout in 2019.

While ‘Gamebred’ cruised through the first three rounds, the bout ended in disappointment when the doctor pulled Diaz out due to a gash above his eye. Therefore, the Stockton native’s fans have held onto the fact that their man could’ve made an epic comeback.

Regardless, there won’t be any arguments in two weeks time. But while Masvidal should be focusing on the war ahead, he can’t help but throw shade at Conor McGregor.

In the modern era, the sporting titans have proven themselves as two of the biggest stars in combat sports, with the Irishman winning people over with his trash talk and powerful left hand, while MMA enthusiasts have resonated with Masvidal for the gangster attitude that saw him claim the BMF belt.

Alas, according to Masvidal, a bout between the pair is unlikely to ever come to fruition. He’s adamant that despite supposedly being a bigger draw than Michael Chandler, the Dubliner has shown zero interest in meeting him in the cage.

The Florida brawler told MMA Junkie: “The UFC has tried to make this fight happen, and Conor (McGregor) doesn’t want it. He doesn’t want the damn fight. He never mentions my name, but we’re the biggest fight possible. You think Michael Chandler sells more than me vs Conor? Nobody in their right mind thinks that.

“I’m one of the biggest pay-per-view draws of the UFC in the last five years. Of course, we’d break records, but this guy [Conor McGregor] won’t do it. In my future, I don’t see this fight happening unless I run into him in a parking lot.”

While the chances of a collision look bleak, Masvidal certainly isn’t short of names on his hit list.

Jorge Masvidal targets boxing fight with Logan Paul

While the legend has worked tirelessly on his grappling skills during his storied career in mixed martial arts, he’s undeniably a striker at heart.

With a powerful left hook exhibited during his crunch collision with Darren Till, the phenom is excited to continue enhancing his skills.

Rather than jumping right in the deep end with world-caliber fighters, he’d love to go toe-to-toe with Logan Paul.

In an interview with talkSPORT, he explained: “Hats off to Francis Ngannou because he stepped in there and said, ‘Tyson Fury, let’s go. Anthony Joshua, let’s go’. But I just want to learn the craft.

“I’ve been doing MMA for twenty years, so I know how to fight. But boxing is different, you stand different and the range is different. The more time I have to process this information, the better. I wouldn’t mind breaking PPV records with Logan Paul for the next one.”

However, he doesn’t intend on swimming in shallow waters for long. The UFC legend is intent on securing fights with two of the greatest boxers to ever lace up the gloves.
