Joe Rogan compares Igor Severino to an animal for biting Andre Lima

Having spent 27 years as a part of the UFC, Joe Rogan is undeniably synonymous with the brand. Therefore, when a moment is so obscene that even he’s shocked, it goes without saying that the incident in question is undeniably worth talking about.

With his legacy in the sport already cemented, the American no longer commentates on every single event, making special appearances for PPV extravaganzas.

But while he wasn’t present at UFC Fight Night: Ribas vs. Namajunas, a controversial biting incident certainly caught his attention.

In a horrifying turn of events, a crazed Igor Severino bit Andre Lima, forcing the referee to immediately disqualify the Brazilian, prompting Dana White to give the injured victim his win bonus.

To make matters even more bizarre, Lima opted to get a tattoo of the bite mark on his arm, with the words, “I Got F***ing Bit Bonus”, to look back on fondly for the rest of his life.

Like many, Rogan was amused by the ink. However, he couldn’t quite believe that Severino had gotten to a point where he couldn’t refrain from letting out his primal instincts.

In episode #2164 of the JRE, with Action Brunson, Rogan said: “A dude recently bit a dude in the UFC and so the dude got a tattoo of the guy’s bit on his arm, which is hilarious.”

He continued: “[laughing while reading the text on the tattoo] Well, they disqualified the guy he was fighting, and he got the win bonus. I think the dude was trying to take him down, and he couldn’t take him down, and he bit his arm from behind, which is like f***ing so animal! That’s so crazy that people get to that state where they’re aaah f***ing just f***ing like [immitates biting].”

While equally humored by the incident, Brunson couldn’t help but express his concern, pointing out that the bite was deep. The rapper explained that the skin near the elbows can give way when a strong force is applied, and thus, if Severino had bitten just a shade harder, Lima could’ve been seriously injured.

But while Lima is making the best of a bad situation, Severino is facing the consequences of his horrific actions.

What happened to Igor Severino after biting Andre Lima?

Following the incident, White made the decision to cut Severino from the company.

He told Kevin Iole: “Those were two up-and-coming undefeated fighters.

“If you get frustrated and want out of the fight, there are plenty of ways to do it, but the worst thing you can do is bite your opponent.

“Now, you get cut and lose the biggest opportunity of your life. Not to mention, he’s going to have real problems with the NSAC [Nevada State Athletic Commission].”

The fighter is currently waiting to find out the severity of his punishment, which has landed him in a difficult financial position.

Unable to pay his bills, the flyweight has appealed to the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for the release of his fight purse that is currently being withheld until a concrete decision has been made.

The story has captured the attention of MMA enthusiasts around the globe, with many extremely interested in what will happen when the NAC meets to decide the athlete’s fate on June 25.
