Jake Paul is set to face Mike Tyson in a professional boxing match in July as Iron Mike competes for the first time since 2020 against the Problem Child in Arlington, Texas

Jake Paul should be “s***ting his pants” ahead of his upcoming bout against “savage” boxing legend Mike Tyson, according to UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Youtube star-turned-fighter Paul is set to face the former heavyweight champion in July at Texas’ AT&T Stadium. Their meeting is set to be sanctioned as a professional bout and marks Tyson’s return to pro action for the first time since 2005. The 57-year-old did take part in an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr in 2020 however.

Tyson at his peak was a fearsome and intimidating prospect for any opponent and it appears he is locking back into an intense mentality. Rogan revealed the veteran was eating a diet consisting of raw meat to enter a ‘God of War’ mode. The host of the Joe Rogan podcast said: “He goes, ‘I just eat raw meat. I’m eating raw meat’. He goes, ‘You’re eating raw meat?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, I’m eating raw meat’.

“He goes, ‘Because that’s what I’m going to eat when I fight. I’m going to eat him, just raw meat’. “Jesus Christ, he’s in this f**king mode. He’s in that God of war mode.” Rogan added “Bro, he’s in savage mode. If I was Jake Paul right now, I would be s***ting my pants.” Tyson amassed a record of 50 wins and six losses in his professional career, including 44 knockouts. Paul, who is 30 years younger than his opponent, has compiled a record of 9-1 against a list of names drawing from Youtube, mma and boxing.

Rogan believes that Tyson’s experience could offer an advantage in the coming fight. “It’s all the experiences that he has had as a conqueror. You have to take those into consideration,” he explained. “When a man has smashed men before, just smashed men, like when no one could stand in front of him, that is in his mind still. That’s in there.”

There was also praise for Paul to ahead of the bout as Rogan believes the 27-year-old is taking a big risk. He added: “The fact that he is willing to fight Tyson, even though Tyson is 57, just the fact that he’s willing to take a chance at Mike Tyson not being able to do what he used to do. Because that’s what he’s doing. The gamble is, there’s not a f*****g chance in hell that Jake Paul would survive against the Mike Tyson that beat Marvis Frazier.”
