Boxing icon Tyson is making a return to the ring in the summer against social media sensation Paul and he’s been tipped to earn around $20million for the fight

Mike Tyson will earn around $20million for fighting Jake Paul, according to his good friend and UFC legend Henry Cejudo.

Boxing legend ‘Iron Mike’ is back in the ring this summer for a fight against social media star Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyson last fought almost four years ago in an exhibition against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr., with Paul also competing on the undercard as he KO’d NBA star Nate Robinson.

The fine details for the fight haven’t yet been announced but it will air live on Netflix, marking the streaming giant’s first venture into combat sports. Tyson’s purse has been ‘leaked’ by former UFC champion Cejudo, who used to serve as the co-host for Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast.

Mike Tyson is set to take on Jake Paul on July 20

“I mean, you know what I respect, Uncle Mike… but it obviously takes two to tango. I feel like there is probably a really good payday for Mike. He’s probably going to wind up making close to about 20 mill and he’s about to turn 58 years old. Literally, Jake is 27 and Mike is 57,” Cejudo said on Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru and Henry.

“I don’t like it but I was with Mike when he was getting ready for his Roy Jones Jr. fight. This dude is disciplined, he gets moody when he’s in fight camp and doesn’t smoke as much. He runs every day at 5’o’clock in the morning. If there’s anybody super ferocious who can potentially put this dude out, it is Mike.”

Paul and Tyson won’t wear headgear for their fight is still unclear and they are pushing for it to be a professional fight. but the Texas Commission will have the last say on the matter. Tyson has been one of Paul’s biggest supporters since he took up boxing seriously but the influencer has vowed to put ‘Iron Mike’ to sleep.

“Whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event. I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to sleep,” Paul said.
