Mike Tyson and Jake Paul attend the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson press conference at The Apollo Theater on May 13, 2024 in New York City.

Despite many feeling it’s unsafe for Mike Tyson to return to the ring at the age of 58, one UFC legend believes he will land an upset stoppage against Jake Paul.

Rampage Jackson has put his backing behind ring legend Tyson, who will take on social media star Paul on the newly-announced date of November 15. The boxing fight has been highly controversial given the massive age difference between the pair.

And those concerns were exacerbated even further when the bout was pushed back from its original July 20 date over a health scare. Paramedics were called over an ulcer flare-up Tyson suffered during a flight, and he was warned to stop training for a few weeks.

However, both Paul and Tyson have persisted with their fight, which is set to be Netflix’s debut in the live boxing market. They have maintained their co-main event; a rematch between legendary women’s boxers Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

The newly-scheduled event takes place on a Friday night, November 15, at the same venue; AT&T Stadium in Texas. The Dallas Cowboys are playing the following week, and require an extra day to reset the venue for their game.

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly,” Tyson assured fans in a statement released today. “I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties.

“While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out. On Friday, November 15, watch this in-person at AT&T Stadium or live on Netflix.”

Rampage Jackson backs Mike Tyson to stop Jake Paul in boxing fight

While almost the entire combat sport world feels that Tyson is putting his health at serious risk by fighting an active boxer less than half his age. But former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jackson reckons that he will have too much power early, and will make Paul quit.

Speaking with Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller and Luke Rockhold on the Jaxxon Podcast yesterday, the former champion said: “Mike Tyson is going to f***ing knock him out.” When Miller and Rockhold expressed their doubts, he further explained his reasoning, noting that vast chasm in experience.

“Within two rounds, Mike Tyson is going to win. Mike Tyson has been boxing longer than Jake Paul has been alive. You ever seen that viral video where the old white man beats the f*** out of the young white dude? That’s what I think’s going to happen.”

When Miller noted that such a strategy could likely only go four rounds, Jackson claimed that “Jake Paul will probably give up by then, he won’t make it that far.” When co-host Bear Degidio, who helped launch Paul’s social media career, battled back, Jackson told him to “Get off your homeboy’s nuts.”
