After Jake Paul’s highly anticipated boxing fight against Mike Tyson was postponed, Paul reportedly has a new matchup set for July 20th, which Michael Bisping believes is a ‘big mistake’ for the YouTuber turned boxer.

Jake Paul was scheduled to take on 57-year-old, Mike Tyson, on July 20th but Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up on a flight, which resulted in the fight being pushed back to November 15th.

Despite rescheduling the event for later in the year, ‘The Problem Child’ will reportedly fight BKFC fighter, Mike Perry, on July 20th, with the details surrounding the fight still yet to be confirmed.

Michael Bisping believes Jake Paul is making a ‘big mistake’

UFC legend, Michael Bisping, has previously been rumored to be a potential opponent for Paul, however, nothing ever materialized.

The former UFC middleweight champion has stated that he respects Jake Paul for stepping into the ring to fight, admitting that the 27-year-old has made major improvements over his four-year boxing tenure.

“He’s not technical, he’s not sharp, yes he has power, he’s a young man in his prime and he’s not a bad lump of a man so, of course, he’s going to have power, and he’s dedicated himself and he’s improving all the time, so fair play I give him respect for that,” Bisping said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Despite paying Paul some unusual respect, Bisping believes that the YouTuber turned boxer is making a ‘big mistake’ by fighting ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

“I say that he has made a big mistake here.

“He thinks Mike Perry’s easy work, he thinks Mike Perry’s got a big name, he’s a big star and he’s going to go out there and beat him. He’s wrong.

“Mike Perry is a fighter. There’s not a fight Mike Perry won’t take. He is the epitome of a real fighter and he’s an absolute star in (BKFC),” Bisping added.

Since moving over to BKFC in 2022, ‘Platinum’ has scored five wins with the promotion, beating the likes of Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez.

Jake Paul wants to save UFC 303 against Sean O’Malley

Despite reports suggesting that Paul vs Perry is scheduled for July 20th, neither the fighters nor the promotion has confirmed the plans, leaving it up in the air.

With that, ‘The Problem Child’ has unseriously put his name in the hat to save the crumbling UFC 303 event scheduled for June 29th.

The main event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler is reportedly in jeopardy, resulting in the UFC looking for an ample replacement fight.

Current UFC bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, tweeted on X that he would take on Jake Paul to save the event, “I’ll fight Jake Paul to save UFC 303.”

Paul responded to O’Malley, saying, “MMA fight before Tyson. 100% will kill O’Malley in MMA. He’s a small man. PFL vs UFC June 29th.”

In January last year, the PFL announced that they had signed Paul to an exclusive MMA deal, with him expected to make his MMA debut before the end of 2024.
