Upcoming fight

Mayweather posted a tentative fight poster for an event in Mexico City on August 24, which initially suggested Victor Ortiz as his opponent.

However, this fight did not come to fruition. According to Mayweather‘s recent update, the date and location are unchanged, but his opponent will be John Gotti III.

The promotional materials depict Mayweather and Gotti III ready to face off, with DAZN set to broadcast the event live.

Last February, Mayweather had an exhibition match against reality TV star Aaron Chalmers at London’s O2 Arena, which did not meet fan expectations.

Shortly afterward, an announcement was made for a match against John Gotti III. This upcoming fight aims to provide the closure that both fighters and fans have been seeking.

“We’re in talks right now,” Gotti told MMA Hour last year.

“You know, from what I understood after the fight, it was the most Google thing in the whole world, so Floyd‘s a businessman. Floyd wants to capitalize on that, and he wants to make money, so listen, if they want to do it again, I’m here.”
