Emily in Paris takes Emily’s life in Paris to a new level, but also finally reveals the show’s real villain. Season 3 of Emily in Paris picks up with Emily (Lily Collins) making a huge decision between staying at Savoir and moving back to Chicago, or staying in Paris with her new friends and complicated love life. Although Emily has many problems that work against her during her time in Paris, in work and in life, there is no main antagonist in the first two seasons of Emily in Paris.
The majority of Emily in Paris focuses on Emily trying to solve her work problems, and build a strong relationship with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) but Emily In Paris‘s side character plots reveal the villain in Emily’s life. Emily’s positive attitude and insistence on keeping the piece comically rubs up her French counterparts the wrong way but most warm to her, even her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu). Season 3 of Emily in Paris shows Emily’s marketing skills to a new level, and, as she does this, Emily in Paris’s villain shows their true colors even more while also emphasizing their actions against Emily from the very beginning of Emily in Paris.
Camille Is The Real Villain Of Emily In Paris

Emily in Paris season 2 showed Camille’s (Camille Razat) true colors when she made and broke a pact with Emily that they were both going to stay away from Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). Camille was understandably upset to find out about Emily and Gabriel’s relationship, and although they were wrong to not tell her, Emily was right about the fact that she thought they were broken up. Camille’s ploy to use Emily to get Gabriel back was a conscious choice to purposefully manipulate Emily for her own gain which was made even worse by continuing to care for, and be friends with, Emily afterward in season 3.
Emily’s life in Paris comes with a lot of bumps in the road, in both her work and personal life, but none of these issues are because Emily is being personally targeted. This only changes when it comes to Camille, who purposefully manipulates both Emily and Gabriel to get what she wants. Although Camille is pressured by her mother’s plan, who has an obvious effect on her, Camille has her own life away from her parents and still betrays Emily because of her jealousy. Emily solves a lot of her own problems, but Camille’s betrayal continues into season 3 and makes her the real villain of Emily in Paris.
Why Camille Is A Horrible Girlfriend & Friend In Emily In Paris Season 3

Camille’s betrayal continues into season 3 of Emily in Paris and this time her manipulation affects Gabriel. Despite betraying her friend to get her boyfriend back, Camille has an affair with artist Sofia (Melia Kreiling) and Emily finds out at Alfie’s housewarming party. Emily keeps this information to herself, in a bid to protect Camille and stop interfering, yet when Camille returns she still shows Emily up at Camille and Gabriel’s engagement party turned wedding. Camille’s jealousy and lack of trust for Emily and Gabriel, even with Camille’s pregnancy reveal, turns her into a horrible girlfriend and friend, and her actions while with Gabriel show she was a major hypocrite.
Camille ran off to Greece with Sofia, following her desires over respecting her relationship with Gabriel and emphasizing her hypocritical nature even more. Towards the end of Emily in Paris season 3, Emily and Gabriel’s will-they-won’t-they relationship came to a front, but Emily never followed through. Camille still called out Emily in front of everyone, in particular Alfie, which ended their relationship and showed how bad a friend she truly was. It is unknown whether Camille returned from Greece because she loved Gabriel or just for the sake of their child, but either way, Camille’s actions in Emily in Paris season 3 proves she was the true villain all along.
The majority of Emily in Paris focuses on Emily trying to solve her work problems, and build a strong relationship with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) but Emily In Paris‘s side character plots reveal the villain in Emily’s life.
