CORONATION SHOCK! 😱 Aaron McCusker teases “difficult times ahead” for the Driscolls as he reunites with former co-star on set. In just his first 3 scenes since Monday’s debut as Ben Driscoll, secrets emerge that could tear the family apart — including a hidden affair that’s set to rock 2 households. Fans are already predicting chaos and heartbreak in upcoming episodes

Coronation Street star Aaron McCusker has revealed that there will be ‘tough times ahead’ for the new Driscoll-Price clan following a major arrival twist.
The actor was seen making his debut as Ben Driscoll during Monday’s (October 27) episode of the ITV soap, the partner of Eva Price who secretly brought her the Rovers Return before revealing all by returning her to Weatherfield.
It marks Eva’s first time on the cobbles in seven years, with actress Catherine Tyldesley reprising the role as a new era in the beloved boozer begins.
As well as Cath and Aaron, best known for playing Jamie McGuire in Channel 4’s Shameless, Corrie viewers were also introduced to Ben’s mother, and Eva’s ‘mother-in-law from hell’, Maggie Driscoll, who dropped the bombshell that she is in fact the owner of the Rovers, with her being the one to bail her son out of his money predicament.
Also joining the cast is Eva’s daughter Susie (Aurora Bradshaw) and Ben’s two sons Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) and Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike), who is known to Corrie fans as he has been dating Dee Dee Bailey for a couple of months but hasn’t told her about his family’s plans to move to the street.
And Aaron has revealed what fans can expect from the Rovers’ new landlord, especially those who may be familiar with him playing Jamie McGuire. “The only similarities between Jamie McGuire and Ben is, Ben has a bit of a temper which comes to fruition every now and again!” he told the Manchester Evening News and other press.
“And they’ve both got crazy mums! I don’t know if anyone’s watched Shameless, I wouldn’t compare Tina Malone and Pauline McLynn, but they’ve got crazy mothers who rule the roost, so I’m used to that.”
Speaking of Pauline, who is probably best known for playing Mrs. Doyle in the Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted and Libby Croker in Shameless, Ben revealed that despite them both appearing in the latter show, they never worked directly together.

“She was just another face in the corridor to me, even though I was a big Father Ted fan,” Aaron said. “I didn’t really get to know her even though she was on set with me for two years and when I found out that she got the part… An actor I was working with at the time was really close to her and phoned him and said, ‘Can you give me Pauline’s number?”
“He did, I left her a message and she phoned me straight away. We just chatted and chatted and chatted for a couple of weeks before [we started filming] and I adore her. I know people say that all the time but I do, I love the woman to bits.
“Although, she is hilarious. She goes, ‘What age are you?’ I went, ’46,’ and she goes, ‘So I had you when I was f**king 12!’ [laughs]. So that’s Pauline, like. “
Aaron added: “I love working with her and I love Cath, because I didn’t know Cath. She reached out and me and her met and went for a coffee at MediaCity which I thought was really nice, especially as she’s been in it before and knew some of the people. We all get on really well. Really, really well.”
With the family now having arrived with a bang, Aaron revealed more about Ben and what’s ahead for the Driscoll-Prices. “I’ve been given certain storylines coming up that I can’t talk about but he’s a good dad,” he told us.

Ben is stuck between Eva and Maggie
“He’s got every reason to be caught between his mum and Eva because he loves them both dearly and there’s nothing worse than being stuck between that. He can see that Maggie doesn’t treat her [Eva] very well but he’s scared to step in because she was a single mum and she brought him up, and then you’ve also got the fact that she has paid for the pub. It’s one of those things, what can you do?”
He went on: “I don’t know how he’s going to cope with it, I don’t know what way it’s going to go but I can see difficult times ahead. I think the kids keep him [Ben] sane. I’ve got a lovely relationship on-screen and off with Raph (Ollie). I love him to bits and me and him have some lovely little moments…
“I think if he didn’t have those kids, they keep him sane. It should be him keeping his kids on the straight and narrow but I think we might see them keeping him on the straight and narrow.”
Aaron added: “I know what I’ve done so far and I’ve loved it. The storylines are really, really good and we’ve got Christmas coming up and it’s really, really good stuff. It’s been really busy but that’s the way I like it.”
As it was then teased that there is an ex-wife ‘somewhere’, Aaron revealed: “We talk about my brother as well and I like that. It’ll be interesting. There’s lots of of different directions it could go and I’m very, very excited to see how it goes.”a
