Conor McGregor has declared that Mike Perry is ‘fired’ from BKFC after losing his crossover fight to Jake Paul last night.

The legendary two-weight UFC champion is a part owner of the bare knuckle boxing promotion, and this week held his first press conference in the role. And he was unimpressed by their biggest star’s performance as he moved over to the ring in Tampa, Florida.

Perry was dropped three times in five rounds on route to a crushing KO defeat, with Paul now moving on to face Mike Tyson. This fact also angered McGregor, who believes that he should not be fighting a 58-year-old who was forced to pull out of their original date.

Conor McGregor tells Mike Perry he’s ‘fired’ as he tears into Jake Paul fight

After initially showing his support for Perry against Paul, Conor McGregor came in for some criticism before this weekend’s bout by the BKFC star. The former UFC welterweight claimed that he was the original ‘part owner’ of the promotion and again called for a fight with the Irishman.

But after losing to Paul, McGregor appears to be claiming that he is now out of BKFC. He even joked that Perry can instead fight on his new ‘Dirty Boxing Championship’, which he launched last night just hours before his fight.

“Hey Mike you’re released,” McGregor wrote on X, formerly Twitter, after watching the pay-per-view bout. “And you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You’re fired.”

Jake Paul punches Mike Perry during their cruiserweight fight at Amalie Arena on July 20, 2024 in Tampa, Florida.

It wasn’t his only post about the fight, as he also ripped into Paul, adding: “Jake Paul is the biggest p***bag I have ever seen in my life. 40 pound weight difference, juiced out of his head, and still s****ing himself in there.

“Nakisa [Bidarian, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions co-founder] you should take him to Vegas oh that’s right you could never, the athletic commission testing, real testing, real fighting. B**** a**es. You could never.

“And then calling out 60-year-old Mike Tyson fresh off an in flight medical emergency? I swear to god, a fat can of b**** p***. Most valuable p***bag.”

Jake Paul brands Mike Perry ‘tough as nails’ as pair tease potential MMA bout

Perry was dropped in the first and second rounds of last night’s showdown, but managed to get back up both times and continue walking his rival down. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t enough as he was unable to overcome a severe defensive deficiency and he was stopped in the fifth after another knockdown.

However, fans were impressed by his durability and even his showing during the third and fourth rounds while Paul appeared to tire. And speaking after the fight, his rival appeared willing to entertain a bout in the PFL MMA cage down the road.

“He’s tough as nails, I’m sorry it took so long,” Paul told fans after the fact. “Respect to Mike Perry; he’s the king of violence, he’s the BKFC champion. I hit too hard; he took a lot of damage and that’s a W for me. I expected that but I did put him down in the first round, he just survived.”

Jake Paul confirms Mike Tyson fight is next after Mike Perry KO

Following his big knockout victory, Paul was quick to begin the promotion for his next outing, which takes place against Tyson in November. Within seconds of the final bell, he was already kicking off the sell for that showdown, goading the heavyweight legend on the microphone.

“Mike Tyson… you’re next big boy, sign the contract, November 15 on Netfix,” he told host Ariel Helwani. “I’m excited for that one, I’m going to go home and prepare for that one. It’s happening, November 15, Mike Tyson is training, he’s back, looking crazier than ever.

“I’m going to get another KO and prove everyone wrong once again. Everyone said I was an idiot for taking this fight, that I was risking it but this is why I’m here, I take big risks. Mike, I love you but this is my sport.

“You’re a legend, you’re one of the two most famous boxers ever to live, you and Muhammad Ali. It’s an honour to get in the ring with you. I’m so, so honoured; you’re a legend, but I’m going to take your throne, brother.”
