Eloise did not expect to marry, thinking that she and her best friend Penelope would be spinsters together. However, when Penelope and Collin got married, Eloise felt alone, which prompted her to start a correspondence with Sir Philip Crane that later turned to love. The two got married and Eloise adopted his two children, Oliver and Amanda.

The Bridgerton series has already made several changes to Eloise’s storyline.
