One Piece season 2 has added Bridgerton star Charithra Chandran in a major role.
The star, who plays Edwina Sharma on the Netflix period drama, will take on the role of Miss Wednesday in the next season of the manga adaptation.
Announcing the news, One Piece’s official social media shared a clip of Chandran expressing her excitement to take on the role of the Baroque Works agent.

“Hey guys! I am so excited to be joining the cast of One Piece and I feel incredibly grateful to [creator] Oda Sensei for trusting me with the role of Vivi,” she said.
“I know how much she means to all of you and I am going to work my hardest to do her justice and make you all proud. See you soon!”
The news comes after it was confirmed that Sons of Anarchy’s Katey Sagal will be joining the Netflix series as Dr Kureha and The Morning Show’s Mark Harelik will play Dr Hiruluk.
Kureha was a role earmarked for Jamie Lee Curtis, notably after co-showrunner Matt Owens expressed keenness to have the Oscar winner come on board.

However, it ultimately didn’t work out due to scheduling conflicts, with Tomorrow Studios president Becky Clements telling Deadline that Curtis “loves the show”.
“[But] she has too many films and TV shows that she’s going into production on, so our production dates aren’t going to work,” she added. “She definitely wanted to do it, but she’s got deals in first position, and it just became complicated.”
One Piece, which follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates as they set out to find the mythical ‘One Piece’ treasure, became a huge success upon its debut in 2023.
Filming on the second season began last month, with Netflix sharing the news with a behind-the-scenes video.
One Piece season one is streaming now on Netflix. Bridgerton seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
