With the recent release of Wednesday season 2 part 1, the cast of the series is hard at work promoting the release of the new season on the “Doom Tour.” During a live-stream in Australia, Netflix revealed that Gwendoline Christie will return as Principal Larissa Weems in part 2 of Wednesday season 2. Here’s everything we know so far.
The Doom Tour to promote the second season of Wednesday has seen the cast and crew of the series stopping in countries in Europe such as Romania, Italy, Poland, and the UK, and recently wrapped the last of its Asian dates in South Korea, and at the time of writing is now in Australia.
Streamed live on TikTok to tens of thousands worldwide, the Australian portion of the Doom Tour (August 14-16) has revealed the biggest spoiler for part 2 of Wednesday season 2 to date: Gwendoline Christie will return to reprise her role as Principal Larissa Weems.
UPDATE: Netflix has released a first look still of her big return. They also confirm, “The banter between Wednesday and her newly appointed spirit guide—her once-loathed principal, now returned from the afterlife—is back in full swing.”

Eagle-eyed fans have been suspicious of Christie’s potential return for a while now, citing how her Instagram location was in Ireland at the same time as other members of the cast and crew during the filming of Wednesday season 2.
While Ireland is already a popular filming destination for many other projects, it could have been a coincidence that Christie was in Ireland at the same time. However, these super sleuth fans have been proven right after all.

Gwendoline Christie was a fan favourite as Larissa Weems in season 1, and many fans were devastated over the character’s supposed death at the end of the first season. How exactly Christie’s character will return remains to be seen, but we have an idea or two of how Weems will find her way back into the story of Wednesday season 2.
At the time of writing, we’re still under the assumption that Weems is, in fact, still dead after consuming Nightshade after being poisoned by Marilyn Thornhill. However, it’s likely that her spirit lives on. Thanks to the Part 2 preview, we know that as a result of Wednesday’s injuries after being thrown from a second-story window by Tyler Galpin’s Hyde, Wednesday is now in a coma. Considering Wednesday’s psychic abilities and her precarious state, it’s likely that she will be visited by the spirit of Weems from the afterlife, and the pair will communicate through Wednesday’s psychic abilities.
Whether or not we’ll see Weems again in the real world remains to be seen, but stranger things have happened in the supernatural world of Wednesday, and it would be very fun to see her butt heads with Principal Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi), whose radical ideas for Nevermore more than clash with Weems’ progressive attitude towards normies.

Wednesday Season 3 Production Update
We also have an update for the production of Wednesday season 3! While filming was being eyed to begin in Fall 2025, a recent update suggests that Netflix is instead eyeing a Q2 2026 start date for filming.
AD
This will be a disappointment for fans, as this will mean a slightly longer wait time for the release of the third season.
For now, we await further updates!
