Bridgerton season 4’s lead has finally been confirmed by Netflix, confirming which of the siblings is going to be the future focus of the period drama. Bridgerton season 3 ended with Penelope and Collin married, the pair’s resolved relationship leaving the door open for the next sibling to take the reins going into season 4. Throughout the latest episodes, the other members of the family were going through their own story arcs, leaving it open to interpretation just which one of them would be the main character of the next season.

The video includes clips of Benedict, ending with actor Luke Thompson, who portrays the new lead, preparing for a scene happening at a masquerade ball. Netflix also revealed the first details of the plot, with Benedict meeting a Lady in Silver at the ball hosted by his mother, a reference to Sophie Beckett from the book series. Season 4’s focus was previously hinted at following a June casting call for “Emily,” a character whose description matched that of Sophie’s from the books.
