‘The Night Agent’ To End With Season 4 On Netflix In “Proper And Thrilling Conclusion”

Netflix announced The Night Agent will be coming to an end with its fourth and final season.

The streamer announced production on the new season of the Gabriel Basso-led series has officially begun in Los Angeles.

Series creator, executive producer and showrunner Shawn Ryan teased the show will end with a “proper and thrilling conclusion.”

“Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey,” Ryan said in a statement. “I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.”

The hit series stars Basso as a low-level FBI agent named Peter Sutherland, who finds himself in the midst of a massive conspiracy that leads all the way to the Oval Office.

The series recently returned with its third season, which saw Peter hunt down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel. The mission helps him uncover a dark money network that puts him in the path of a relentless journalist.

Details regarding The Night Agent Season 4 are still being kept under wraps. But it will likely be another globe-trotting adventure as Peter grapples with the stakes of his line of work.

“He’s definitely flawed. He doesn’t always make the right decision,” Ryan told Netflix’s Tudum of Basso’s character. “Peter desperately wants to do the right thing, wants the best for the most people, but the line of work he’s in demands that you don’t always get to choose between right and wrong — sometimes you have to choose between wrong and bigger wrong.”

The Night Agent Season 3 premiered in February, when it quickly landed in the the Netflix Top 10. The streamer reports the new season had 5.2 million views, putting the show at No. 3 of the Top 10 U.S. Series list.

The show has long ranked in the streamer’s Top 10 lists, where it spent 17 weeks after its premiere in 2023.

The Night Agent Season 1 through 3 are streaming now on Netflix.
