Bridgerton star Rege Jean Page as Simon Basset

Bridgerton breakout Regé-Jean Page is officially the world’s most handsome man, according to a new scientific study. The British actor broke out as a result of Bridgerton season 1, playing the dashing Duke of Hastings and the object of Daphne Bridgerton’s affection – Simon Basset. Since then, he has enjoyed a steady rise to fame, starting with the Russo brothers’ Netflix film The Gray Man, in which he played the suave CIA boss Denny Carmichael. No matter what roles Page takes on next, his reputation as Bridgerton‘s heartthrob is excepted to follow him.

Now, a new scientific study has officially declared Page as the world’s most handsome man, at least according to one standard.

Per People, plastic surgeon Dr. Julian De Silva used digital face-mapping software to determine that the 34-year-old actor’s face is 93.65 percent symmetrical. This is in terms of the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, a mathematical ratio named after the Greek sculptor Phidias which is used to measure physical attractiveness. Dr. De Silva also announced the close runners-up – Thor star Chris Hemsworth, who placed second with 93.53 percent, while Black Panther and Creed star Michael B. Jordan came in third with 93.46 percent.

How Regé-Jean Page Became Bridgerton Season 1’s Breakout Star

Premiered on Netflix in 2020, Bridgerton season 1 chronicled the ruse-turned-fiery romance between the titular family’s eldest daughter, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), and the dashing Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset, played with a pitch-perfect pizzazz by Page. The romantic period drama’s debut season smashed viewing records for the streaming service, and while most of the main cast returned for Bridgerton season 2, Page did not. This was mainly because Simon was not a large part of season 2’s story, based on Julia Quinn’s novel The Viscount Who Loved Me, which instead focused on the eldest Bridgerton son, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey).

Bridgerton season 1’s massive success, coupled with Page’s charisma and dashing good looks as a romantic male lead, is largely responsible for the British actor becoming a breakout star. By not returning for Bridgerton season 2, this also allowed Page to pursue other roles and display his range, including taking on the role of a villain in The Gray Man. Page’s upcoming roles are expected to further display his assortment of abilities as an actor beyond simply his good looks.

Regé-Jean Page can be seen next alongside Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, and Sophia Lillis in the comedy-adventure Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves which premieres in theaters on March 31. Surprisingly, Page has no other roles lined up after Paramount’s hopeful blockbuster. Since his breakout on Bridgerton season 1, Page has steadily been one of the several betting favorites to be the next James Bond. He is British, charismatic, younger than the other favorites, and clearly good-looking, so Page might just have all the qualities required to land the role of 007.
